About the role:
We’re hiring Sales Development Representatives to join our founding SDR team and help shape the future of how companies adopt LangChain. As part of our SDR team, you’ll turn high inbound interest and targeted outbound demand into qualified opportunities and create an exceptional first-touch experience for prospects. You’ll work closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Operations alongside using LangChain and LangGraph-powered agents to automate list building, enrichment, and outreach freeing you to focus entirely on high-impact prospecting and conversations with teams exploring agentic AI. What you will do:
- Follow up with inbound and outbound prospects via phone, email, and LinkedIn to uncover fit, needs, and potential value.
- Partner closely with Account Executives to hand off qualified opportunities and ensure a smooth buyer experience.

- Use LangChain powered agents to test, learn, and improve prospecting strategies.
How to be successful in this role:
- 1–2 years of experience in a Sales, SDR, or BDR role within SaaS or technology (or strong curiosity and drive if you’re early in your career).
- Clear, confident communicator who can engage both technical and business audiences.
- Motivated by learning, iteration, and experimentation you treat outreach like a craft.
- Comfortable with a mix of structure and ambiguity you can execute repeatable processes while improving them along the way.

Frame your demos around LangChain's stack
LangChain interviews for Sales Engineers heavily test your ability to demo agentic workflows and RAG pipelines. Build a working prototype using LangGraph or LangSmith before your final rounds so your technical credibility is immediately clear.
Confirm E-3 eligibility before applying
If you hold Australian citizenship, the E-3 visa is processed separately from the H-1B lottery and has no annual cap. Verify that your degree aligns with a specialty occupation in software or AI before initiating the process with a recruiter.
Request a sponsorship conversation early
LangChain's recruiting team handles visa logistics internally. Raise sponsorship during the offer discussion, not after accepting. Ask specifically whether the role is designated H-1B cap-exempt or cap-subject, since that affects your start timeline.
Search LCA filings to verify active sponsorship
Before investing in interview preparation, search the DOL's OFLC disclosure database for LangChain's recent Labor Condition Applications. Sales Engineer filings confirm the company is actively sponsoring for this specific role, not just engineering-only positions.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
LangChain posts Sales Engineer openings across multiple channels but not always simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to track verified visa-sponsoring roles at LangChain in one place so you can apply during active hiring windows, not after headcount closes.
Align your start date to cap and processing realities
H-1B cap petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start, with registration opening in March. If you're between jobs, your 60-day grace period may not bridge that gap. Discuss cap-exempt alternatives or adjusted start dates with your hiring contact before signing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LangChain sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Engineers?
Yes, LangChain sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Engineer roles. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines given its requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field such as computer science or engineering. Confirm sponsorship intent with the recruiting team during the offer stage, since cap-subject H-1B petitions are tied to the annual October 1 start date.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Engineer roles at LangChain?
H-1B is the primary visa type used for Sales Engineer roles at LangChain. Australian citizens can also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Both require an employer-filed Labor Condition Application with the DOL and an I-129 petition submitted to USCIS before you can begin work.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Sales Engineer roles at LangChain?
LangChain typically expects Sales Engineers to have hands-on experience with LLM frameworks, APIs, or developer tooling, alongside a background in enterprise software sales cycles. Familiarity with LangChain's own products, including LangGraph and LangSmith, significantly strengthens your candidacy. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is standard and also underpins the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Sales Engineer jobs at LangChain?
Browse open Sales Engineer positions at LangChain on Migrate Mate, which aggregates verified visa-sponsoring roles and filters by visa type so you can confirm H-1B or E-3 eligibility before applying. When you apply directly, flag your visa sponsorship needs in your cover note. LangChain's recruiting team manages sponsorship discussions during the offer phase, so come prepared with your visa status, degree documentation, and preferred start date.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at LangChain?
H-1B registration opens each March for a lottery drawing, with approved petitions starting October 1. If you receive an offer before March, LangChain can file during that cycle for an October start. If you miss the window, you'll wait for the following year's cap unless the role qualifies for a cap-exempt filing. Factor in USCIS processing times of three to six months for regular processing, or two to four weeks with premium processing.
