About us
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.
With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.
Today, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Fleet are used by teams shipping real AI products across startups and large enterprises. Millions of developers trust LangChain to power AI teams at companies like Replit, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, and 35% of the Fortune 500.
About the Team
The LangSmith team owns and builds LangChain's core platform for observability, evaluation, and production reliability of AI systems. From tracing and annotation to run rules, evaluations, and beyond, this team owns LangSmith end-to-end. If you want to define what great AI observability looks like at production scale, this is where that work gets done.
About the Role
We're looking for a Product Manager to own key parts of LangSmith. Building AI products is changing the way software teams work; LangSmith is the observability, evals and deployment platform that makes shipping reliable AI systems possible.
This role sits at the intersection of user experience and production infrastructure. You'll partner with engineers to build features that feel intuitive while solving deeply technical problems: versioning complex prompt chains, debugging multi-step agent failures, or designing evaluation systems that scale from 10 to 10,000 test cases.
You'll work directly with customers — from early-stage startups shipping their first agent to enterprises running mission-critical AI systems — to understand where the platform breaks down and what capabilities unlock new workflows.
- Own the roadmap for a core area of the LangSmith platform.
- Work with customers to understand their challenges and define new product features.
- Work with engineering to define scope, make technical tradeoffs, and ship high-impact features quickly.
- Help shape product strategy alongside our founders and leadership team.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of product management or engineering experience, ideally building developer tools, infrastructure products, or technical SaaS platforms.
- Deeply technical — you can hold your own in conversations about API design, system architecture, data pipelines, and debugging production issues.
- Bias toward action — you'd rather ship, learn, and iterate than build the perfect solution upfront.
- Strong written and verbal communicator who can align cross-functional teams around a shared vision.
Nice to Have
- Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
- Previous experience at a high-growth startup or developer-focused company.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, agents, or AI applications.
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $180,000-$215,000
Compensation Philosophy:
We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks. Actual compensation and offerings will vary based on role, level, and location. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.
Benefits
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, meals on in-office days in the US and more.

Frame your portfolio around LLM integrations
LangChain's core product is an AI orchestration framework, so portfolio projects that demonstrate hands-on experience with LLM pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation, or agent tooling will resonate far more than general full-stack work.
Verify LangChain's E-Verify enrollment before applying
H-1B and E-3 sponsorship requires the employer to participate in E-Verify. Confirm LangChain's enrollment status directly through the E-Verify employer search before investing time in the application process.
Target roles with clear specialty occupation language
USCIS requires H-1B positions to qualify as specialty occupations. Look for Product Engineer postings at LangChain that list a specific degree requirement in computer science or engineering, not just a preferred background, to support a stronger petition.
Negotiate timing around LCA certification requirements
Your employer must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before filing your H-1B or E-3 petition. Build at least three to four weeks of LCA processing time into your start date conversation with the hiring team.
Search open Product Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Identifying which specific Product Engineer openings at LangChain are actively seeking sponsored candidates narrows your focus. Use Migrate Mate to filter and browse verified sponsorship-eligible roles at LangChain before applying.
Prepare for a technical screen that tests agentic systems depth
LangChain's interview process for Product Engineers typically emphasizes applied AI reasoning. Refreshing your understanding of multi-agent architectures, tool use patterns, and stateful workflows will sharpen your performance before the offer stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LangChain sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, LangChain has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Product Engineer roles. Sponsorship is generally tied to roles with a clearly defined specialty occupation requirement, meaning the job posting should specify a degree in a relevant technical field. If you're in H-1B cap season, confirm your timeline with the hiring team early, since the annual lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at LangChain?
Applications go through LangChain's careers page, where Product Engineer openings are listed with role-specific requirements. You can also find sponsorship-eligible Product Engineer positions at LangChain on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa holders. Tailoring your application to demonstrate experience with AI developer tooling, LLM frameworks, or orchestration systems will strengthen your candidacy significantly.
Which visa types does LangChain use to sponsor Product Engineers?
LangChain sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for Product Engineer roles. The H-1B applies to most nationalities and is subject to the annual 85,000-slot cap and lottery. The E-3 is exclusively available to Australian citizens, carries a separate 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been exhausted, and can be applied for directly at a U.S. consulate without waiting for a lottery result.
What qualifications does LangChain expect for a sponsored Product Engineer?
LangChain's Product Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. Practically, postings emphasize experience shipping production-grade AI features, familiarity with LLM APIs, and the ability to work across backend systems and developer-facing interfaces. Candidates with demonstrable contributions to AI tooling or open-source projects in the LangChain ecosystem tend to stand out.
How do I estimate a realistic timeline from offer to visa approval for a Product Engineer role at LangChain?
For an H-1B, count at least three to four weeks for DOL Labor Condition Application certification, then two to six months for standard USCIS processing, or two to three weeks with premium processing. E-3 applicants typically move faster since consular processing in Australia currently runs two to six weeks. Building these windows into your offer negotiation avoids last-minute delays.
