Frame your portfolio around connectivity solutions
Molex sits at the intersection of electronics and end-use industries like Fashion and Apparel. Position your business development experience around technical product commercialization or supply chain partnerships, not just revenue growth, so your background maps directly to what the role requires.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline early
If you're on F-1 status, your OPT window starts counting from your program end date, not your employment start. Confirm your available months before submitting applications so Molex's recruiting team can assess whether your authorization covers their onboarding timeline without needing an immediate H-1B filing.
Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupation criteria
Strategic Business Development at Molex typically requires a degree in business, engineering, or a related field. USCIS evaluates whether the role genuinely requires that degree. Applying to postings that list a specific field of study strengthens the specialty occupation argument in your H-1B petition.
Ask about PERM and Green Card timelines at offer stage
Molex sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for eligible employees. Ask during offer negotiation whether the role is expected to initiate PERM labor certification, and roughly when that process typically begins, so you're not making long-term plans based on assumptions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Business development openings at Molex move quickly and not all postings make sponsorship eligibility obvious. Use Migrate Mate to filter Molex's Strategic Business Development listings by the visa types they actively sponsor, so you apply only to roles where your status is a fit.
Prepare credentials for industries Molex serves
Molex's Fashion and Apparel vertical requires business development candidates who understand wearable technology, smart textiles, or retail supply chains. Document any client work, market-entry projects, or partnerships in adjacent industries before interviews, since hiring managers will probe sector-specific commercial instincts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, engineering, or marketing. If you're currently on OPT or another nonimmigrant status, Molex has the infrastructure to support an H-1B filing when the role and timing align.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Molex?
Applications go through Molex's careers portal, where Strategic Business Development roles are listed by region and business unit. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which specific postings are open to international candidates. Tailor your application to highlight commercial experience relevant to the industries Molex serves, including Fashion and Apparel.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Strategic Business Development roles?
Molex sponsors several visa categories for this function, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for longer-term Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, educational background, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Strategic Business Development roles?
Molex generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical discipline, combined with demonstrated experience driving partnerships or revenue in a B2B environment. For Fashion and Apparel-focused roles, familiarity with wearable technology, smart textiles, or retail supply chain dynamics strengthens your candidacy significantly. Advanced degrees can support EB-2 Green Card eligibility later in your career at the company.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if I get an offer from Molex?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, Molex would file your petition during the April registration window for an October 1 start date, meaning the gap between offer and authorization can be up to six months. USCIS premium processing can reduce adjudication to roughly 15 business days, but the cap lottery itself is fixed. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a cap-exempt transfer can move much faster.
