Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires business development roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the position. Prepare documentation showing how your specific field of study connects to Deloitte's client acquisition and strategic growth work.
Target Deloitte's industry-aligned business development teams
Deloitte structures its business development function by industry sector, including financial services, government, and technology. Applying to a team that matches your background signals to recruiters that you can contribute from day one without a steep sector learning curve.
Understand how Deloitte uses multiple visa categories
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this function, so Australian and Chilean or Singaporean nationals have faster pathways that bypass the H-1B lottery. Clarify your nationality early in conversations with the recruiter so the right visa track is planned from the start.
Ask about petition timing before accepting an offer
H-1B petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, confirm whether Deloitte will file for cap-exempt status or structure a delayed start, since both paths are used in professional services consulting firms.
Browse open roles filtered by sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Deloitte posts Strategic Business Development openings across practice areas and geographies at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter Deloitte's current openings by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for PERM-stage documentation early if targeting a Green Card
Deloitte sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for business development professionals. The DOL PERM process requires Deloitte to conduct a supervised job search, so keep records of your prior job applications and employer contacts in case they're needed to support your file.

Find Strategic Business Development at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which requires demonstrating that the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Deloitte's size and established immigration infrastructure mean it has dedicated processes for managing H-1B filings, including premium processing options for time-sensitive starts.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where roles are listed by service line and location. You can also find Deloitte's open Strategic Business Development positions filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which roles are actively seeking international candidates. Tailor your application to the specific industry vertical the team serves, whether that's financial services, technology, or government.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Strategic Business Development roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this function, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term permanent residence. Australian nationals can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and renews in two-year increments. H-1B1 is available to nationals of Chile and Singapore. For most other nationalities, the H-1B cap-subject lottery is the primary nonimmigrant route.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Strategic Business Development roles?
Most Strategic Business Development positions at Deloitte require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a closely related field, with relevant experience in client development, proposal management, or sales strategy within a professional services environment. Because USCIS scrutinizes whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, candidates whose degrees align precisely with the job description have a stronger petition foundation than those with generalist backgrounds.
How do I plan a realistic timeline for visa sponsorship at Deloitte?
If you're pursuing an H-1B, the annual cap registration opens in March and lottery results are announced before April 1, with an October 1 employment start date. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions can be filed year-round with faster turnaround. Build at least three to four months into your planning after an offer to account for DOL Labor Condition Application certification, USCIS petition processing, and any consular appointments if you need a visa stamp.
