Align your portfolio with Molex's customer-facing engineering work
Field Application Engineers at Molex spend most of their time translating connector and interconnect specs into customer solutions. Before applying, document specific examples where you've supported design-in cycles, conducted product demonstrations, or resolved field-level technical issues with clients.
Understand which visa Molex is likely to file for you
Molex sponsors multiple visa types for this role including H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways. TN is faster and cap-exempt if you're Canadian or Mexican with a qualifying engineering degree, making it a practical first step before pursuing permanent residency.
Prepare for PERM-based sponsorship conversations early
If you're targeting a Green Card through Molex, the PERM labor certification process typically takes one to two years before USCIS even receives your I-140 petition. Raise your long-term sponsorship expectations with the hiring manager during the offer stage, not after you've started.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Field Application Engineer roles at Molex
Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Field Application Engineer openings at Molex that include visa sponsorship. You can narrow results by visa type to confirm the role fits your current immigration status before investing time in the application.
Highlight cross-functional technical communication in your resume
Molex Field Application Engineer roles require regular collaboration between sales, product, and customer engineering teams. Hiring managers look for candidates who can translate highly technical connector specifications into language that non-engineering stakeholders can act on, so make that skill explicit in your materials.
Field Application Engineer at Molex jobs are hiring across the US. Find yours.
Find Field Application Engineer at Molex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Field Application Engineers?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Field Application Engineer roles. The H-1B requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation, which Field Application Engineering typically satisfies given its requirement for applied engineering knowledge. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, your employer must file the petition during the registration window each spring for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Field Application Engineer jobs at Molex?
Applications go through Molex's careers portal, but finding roles that explicitly include visa sponsorship takes extra filtering. Migrate Mate lets you browse verified Field Application Engineer openings at Molex alongside their sponsorship details, so you can confirm the position fits your visa situation before applying. Tailor your resume to emphasize customer-facing technical support and connector or hardware experience.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Field Application Engineer roles?
Molex sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for Field Application Engineers. TN is cap-exempt and available quickly for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering degrees. H-1B is the most common long-term option for other nationalities. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically follows a period of H-1B employment.
What qualifications does Molex expect for a sponsored Field Application Engineer role?
Molex generally looks for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with connector systems, PCB design, or signal integrity is a strong differentiator. For visa sponsorship purposes, USCIS requires the role to meet specialty occupation standards, so your degree should directly relate to the technical scope of the position rather than being a general science or business background.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once Molex extends an offer?
Timeline depends on the visa type. TN approval for Canadian nationals can happen at the border on day one. H-1B standard processing takes three to five months from petition filing, while premium processing through USCIS shortens that to around 15 business days. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year process. Clarify which pathway Molex intends to pursue before signing your offer so your start date aligns with the expected timeline.
