Align your portfolio to connector systems
Molex designs interconnect solutions for apparel-integrated electronics and wearable technology. Before applying, update your portfolio to show PCB layout, mechanical tolerancing, or product lifecycle work that maps directly to these systems.
Request a written sponsorship commitment early
During the offer stage, ask HR directly whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship and whether the company will cover USCIS filing fees. Some Molex positions are tied to projects with fixed budgets that affect sponsorship eligibility.
Prepare credentials for a specialty occupation determination
USCIS scrutinizes whether Design Engineer roles qualify as specialty occupations. Gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations if your credential is from outside the U.S., and documentation showing your coursework directly aligns with the engineering discipline in the job description.
Target Molex roles in their connectors and wearables divisions
Design Engineer openings tied to Molex's connectivity and miniaturization product lines are more likely to require specialized technical backgrounds, which strengthens the specialty occupation case USCIS evaluates during H-1B adjudication. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these openings by visa type.

Find Design Engineer at Molex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Design Engineers?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Design Engineer roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for engineering positions, including those tied to product design and component development. If you receive an offer, confirm with HR that the specific role is pre-approved for sponsorship before accepting, as sponsorship eligibility can vary by business unit.
How do I apply for Design Engineer jobs at Molex?
You can browse and apply for Design Engineer positions at Molex directly through the Molex careers portal. To filter specifically for roles open to international candidates and visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which surfaces Molex openings alongside their sponsorship history so you can target the right positions from the start.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Design Engineer roles?
Molex sponsors multiple visa categories for Design Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship offered after a successful performance period. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Design Engineer positions?
Molex typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, or materials engineering for Design Engineer roles. Experience with CAD tools, tolerance analysis, or interconnect system design is commonly listed in job descriptions. For wearable or apparel-integrated product lines, familiarity with miniaturized components or flexible electronics strengthens your candidacy and supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How do I manage my visa timeline while interviewing at Molex?
If you're on F-1 OPT, the H-1B cap-subject filing window opens April 1 each year, and USCIS begins accepting registrations in March. Your OPT expiration date needs to leave enough runway for Molex to complete the LCA filing with DOL, register for the H-1B lottery, and prepare the full petition. Start conversations with Molex HR about sponsorship intent at the offer stage, not after you've accepted.
