Align your credentials to utility engineering standards
ENTRUST's Design Engineer roles sit inside infrastructure and utility consulting, so a PE license or EIT certification strengthens your profile significantly. If your credentials are foreign-issued, get them evaluated by a NACES-member service before applying.
Target open requisitions by discipline and region
ENTRUST posts Design Engineer roles across multiple regional offices tied to specific utility clients. Filter by engineering discipline, such as electrical, civil, or structural, to match your background to the right project team and avoid competing in the wrong specialty.
Clarify sponsorship intent early in recruiting conversations
ENTRUST sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT for Design Engineers, but sponsorship eligibility can vary by project type and contract structure. Raise your visa status in the first recruiter call so the hiring team can loop in the right internal resources before an offer is drafted.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Design Engineer openings
ENTRUST's Design Engineer roles are spread across locations and often fill quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for ENTRUST positions that list visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where authorization is already on the table.
Understand how OPT cap-gap affects consulting project starts
If you're on F-1 OPT and your H-1B is selected in the lottery, USCIS cap-gap protection extends your work authorization through September 30. Confirm with ENTRUST's HR team that your project start date accounts for this window before signing an offer.
Prepare for PERM early if EB-2 or EB-3 is your goal
ENTRUST sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Design Engineers, but PERM requires a DOL-supervised recruitment process that can take a year or more before your I-140 petition is even filed. Ask during the offer stage whether the role is eligible for employer-sponsored permanent residency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ENTRUST Solutions Group sponsor H-1B visas for Design Engineers?
Yes, ENTRUST Solutions Group sponsors H-1B visas for Design Engineers. As a consulting firm operating in utility and infrastructure sectors, ENTRUST has experience navigating the H-1B process for engineering roles. Because H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, you'll want to confirm timing with your recruiter well before the April filing window to ensure your start date aligns.
How do I apply for Design Engineer jobs at ENTRUST Solutions Group?
You can apply through ENTRUST's careers page or use Migrate Mate to find Design Engineer openings at ENTRUST that are tagged for visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight project experience relevant to utility or infrastructure consulting, and clearly note your current visa status so the recruiter can route your application correctly from the start.
Which visa types does ENTRUST Solutions Group commonly use for Design Engineers?
ENTRUST sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Design Engineers. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under the USMCA for qualifying engineering roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are commonly used for recent graduates entering their first role before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does ENTRUST Solutions Group expect for Design Engineer roles?
ENTRUST's Design Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, depending on the project team. Utility or infrastructure project experience is a common differentiator. An EIT certification or active PE license strengthens candidacy considerably, particularly for roles involving design-of-record responsibilities on regulated utility projects.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Design Engineer offer at ENTRUST?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B sponsorship requires filing by April 1 for an October 1 start, so offers made after April require a full-year wait unless premium processing is available. TN processing for Canadians can happen at the border in a single day. EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based Green Card processes typically take two or more years from PERM filing to I-140 approval.
