Frame Your Degree Around Technical Sales
Molex files H-1B petitions for Sales Development Managers under specialty occupation, so your credentials need to show a degree in engineering, business, or a related field that directly supports a technical sales function. A generic sales background without that academic tie-in weakens your petition.
Target Molex Accounts in Apparel Manufacturing
Molex supplies connectors and electronic components to apparel and wearable tech manufacturers. Research their existing Fashion and Apparel client base before interviews so you can speak to specific territory fit, which signals readiness to contribute from day one and accelerates internal sponsorship decisions.
Ask About Internal Transfer Before External Hiring
Molex regularly uses L-1 and TN pathways for candidates already employed in Canadian or Mexican offices. If you have a work history with a Molex affiliate abroad, raise that directly with the recruiter early, since an intracompany transfer can bypass the H-1B lottery entirely.
Clarify OPT Start Dates Against Territory Ramp Timelines
Sales Development Manager roles at Molex often involve a 60 to 90 day territory onboarding period. If you are on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window covers that ramp before accepting an offer, since STEM OPT extension applications must be filed with USCIS at least 90 days before expiration.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Not every Sales Development Manager opening at Molex lists sponsorship eligibility in the job description. Use Migrate Mate to identify which postings are tied to verified sponsorship history, so you apply to roles where the hiring team has already cleared internal approval for visa support.
Get the LCA Certified Before Your Start Date
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. For a Sales Development Manager role, the prevailing wage tier will depend on your region and assigned territory, so confirm with Molex's immigration counsel that the LCA reflects your actual work location.

Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Development Managers?
Yes. Molex has an established pattern of sponsoring H-1B visas for Sales Development Managers, particularly for roles that meet the specialty occupation standard through a qualifying degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field. Because H-1B petitions for sales roles require a clear nexus between the degree and the position, your application materials should explicitly draw that connection.
How do I apply for Sales Development Manager jobs at Molex?
Applications go through Molex's careers portal. Before applying, filter available roles by location and confirm the posting is open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate is a reliable way to surface Sales Development Manager openings at Molex that are tied to verified sponsorship activity, saving you time screening roles where sponsorship has not been established.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Sales Development Manager roles?
Molex sponsors across several categories for this function. H-1B is the most common route for full-time hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates in their authorization window. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or engineering occupations. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways are also supported for longer-term employees pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Sales Development Manager roles?
Molex typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business, or a related technical discipline, combined with experience managing B2B sales cycles in industrial or electronics sectors. For Fashion and Apparel accounts specifically, familiarity with wearable technology, smart textiles, or electronic component applications in consumer goods manufacturing strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Sales Development Manager at Molex?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B petitions filed in the April lottery have an October 1 start date, meaning several months pass between offer and authorization. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to three years depending on your country of birth and priority date. If you are on OPT, your 60-day grace period begins when employment ends, so coordinating your petition filing with your start date is critical.
