Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Application Engineer Jobs at Molex Jobs
Frame Your Degree Around Specialty Occupation Standards
USCIS requires Application Engineer roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the position. A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science maps cleanly to connector and interconnect application work. Unrelated fields create petition risk.
Target Molex Openings in Core Connector Segments
Molex hires Application Engineers across product lines including high-speed connectors, fiber optics, and power solutions. Roles tied to established product families tend to move faster through internal approval. Align your application materials to the specific product segment listed in the job posting.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Molex Openings
Application Engineer postings at Molex rotate frequently by product line and region. Use Migrate Mate to filter current openings at Molex that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're targeting live roles rather than positions that have already closed.
Clarify OPT Start Dates Before Your First Interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM OPT extension eligibility before engaging with Molex's recruiting team. A 24-month STEM extension gives you the runway Molex needs to file an H-1B petition without timing pressure from your authorization expiring mid-process.
Understand How Molex Handles the LCA Filing Step
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Ask your Molex recruiter or HR contact early in the offer stage whether they use in-house legal counsel or outside immigration counsel, so you know who will be managing your case.
Prepare Customer-Facing Portfolio Evidence for Your Petition
Application Engineer roles require demonstrating both technical depth and client engagement experience. Compile documentation of design wins, technical presentations, or field application work. This evidence strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation argument and supports employer-based Green Card filings down the line.

Find Application Engineer at Molex JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Application Engineers?
Yes. Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Application Engineer roles and has done so across multiple product lines and regions. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirement for a degree in engineering or a closely related field. Your specific petition will depend on the job description and your educational background aligning with USCIS standards.
How do I apply for Application Engineer jobs at Molex?
Applications go through Molex's careers portal on their corporate website. You can also find current Application Engineer openings at Molex that are open to visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your resume to the specific product segment listed in each posting, since Molex hires Application Engineers across distinct technical divisions.
Which visa types does Molex commonly use for Application Engineers?
Molex sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization route for Application Engineers, along with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students in active programs. For longer-term employees, Molex has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Molex expect for Application Engineer roles?
Most Application Engineer postings at Molex require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience with connector systems, PCB design, or signal integrity is commonly listed. Customer-facing experience matters too, since the role involves direct technical support. Some positions require familiarity with specific industries such as automotive, data infrastructure, or industrial automation.
How do I think about the timeline from job offer to work authorization at Molex?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your clock starts the moment your current authorization ends. H-1B petitions filed in the annual April lottery have an October 1 start date if selected. Molex's HR team typically coordinates with immigration counsel to begin LCA preparation once an offer is extended, but you should ask about their internal timeline expectations during the offer stage to avoid gaps.
