Prioritize CPA Licensure Before Applying
CrossCountry Consulting's Tax Accountant roles are specialty occupation positions, and active CPA candidacy or licensure strengthens your H-1B petition substantially. Document your exam progress, educational transcripts, and any state board registration before you approach the firm.
Target Roles Matching Your Tax Specialty
CrossCountry staffs tax functions across federal, state and local, and international tax. Applying to the practice area that aligns with your background, such as transfer pricing or SALT, sharpens your fit and makes the specialty occupation argument cleaner for USCIS.
Research CrossCountry's Federal Client Work
CrossCountry serves government and commercial clients heavily, so tax professionals with federal compliance or government contractor tax experience get noticed faster. Frame your resume around engagements that mirror their client base before submitting your application.
Clarify Sponsorship Intent in Your First Recruiter Call
Raise your visa status in the first recruiter conversation, not after an offer. Ask directly whether the Tax Accountant opening is approved for sponsorship. This filters out roles where the hiring manager lacks budget authority to file, saving weeks of process time.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Efficiently
Search Migrate Mate to filter Tax Accountant openings at CrossCountry Consulting by visa type. This lets you identify which active postings align with your sponsorship category, whether H-1B, E-3, or TN, before you invest time tailoring your application.
Understand the LCA Requirement Before Your Offer
CrossCountry must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. Confirm your offer letter is final and your start date is realistic, since LCA certification typically takes seven business days and must precede the I-129 filing.

Find Tax Accountant at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Accountants?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Accountant roles. Tax accounting qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. The firm has an established process for filing H-1B petitions, and roles in federal, state, and international tax practices are among those where sponsorship has been supported.
How do I apply for Tax Accountant jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse and apply for Tax Accountant openings at CrossCountry Consulting through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions that match your immigration status. When you apply, tailor your resume to the specific tax practice area the role covers, and be prepared to discuss your visa requirements and CPA status early in the recruiting process.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Tax Accountant hires?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for most Tax Accountant hires requiring employer-supported status. The firm also supports E-3 visas for Australian citizens, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting roles, and F-1 OPT extensions for recent graduates. For longer-term employment, the firm has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Tax Accountant roles?
CrossCountry Consulting expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for Tax Accountant positions. Active CPA candidacy or a completed CPA license significantly strengthens your application. Practical experience in federal tax compliance, SALT, or international tax is valued, and familiarity with large public accounting or consulting firm workflows is a common thread across successful candidates.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Tax Accountant at CrossCountry Consulting?
For H-1B sponsorship, the employer must first obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, which typically takes about seven business days. USCIS then processes the I-129 petition within three to five months under standard processing. H-1B cap-subject filings are only accepted once per year in April, so timing your offer and start date around the annual lottery window matters significantly for new H-1B applicants.
