Align Your Credentials to Specialty Occupation Standards
CrossCountry typically requires a degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for Associate roles. Before applying, confirm your transcript shows coursework that maps directly to the position, since USCIS evaluates degree-to-role fit closely for H-1B specialty occupation petitions.
Target Open Requisitions Posted Across Multiple Locations
CrossCountry lists Accounting Associate roles across several office locations, and the work-site address on your Labor Condition Application must match where you'll actually work. Clarify remote or hybrid arrangements early, as multi-site or remote placements require additional DOL LCA filings from the employer.
Raise Sponsorship Eligibility Directly in Early Conversations
Consulting firms move fast in hiring. Bring up your visa type and authorized work period in the first recruiter screen rather than waiting for an offer. Knowing whether your F-1 OPT, E-3, or TN timeline aligns with their start-date expectations prevents late-stage delays.
Understand How OPT Cap-Gap Bridges Your Status
If you're on F-1 OPT when CrossCountry files an H-1B petition on your behalf before April 1, the cap-gap rule automatically extends your work authorization through September 30. You can keep working through that window without interruption, but your I-20 must reflect the cap-gap extension.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Accounting Associate Openings
Searching broadly wastes time when you need a sponsor-confirmed role. Use Migrate Mate to filter Accounting Associate positions at CrossCountry Consulting specifically, so every listing you pursue already reflects documented sponsorship activity for this job function.
Prepare for PERM Timing if Pursuing Permanent Residence
EB-2 and EB-3 green card paths through CrossCountry require PERM labor certification, which involves DOL-supervised recruitment and can take a year or more before an I-140 is filed. Starting this conversation during your second or third year in the role gives the process realistic time to complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Accounting Associates?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Accounting Associate roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a directly related field. Your employer files the H-1B petition with USCIS, and if you're subject to the annual cap, the lottery registration window runs in March each year.
How do I apply for Accounting Associate jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can find and apply for Accounting Associate openings at CrossCountry Consulting through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles with confirmed sponsorship activity so you're not guessing about eligibility. Applications typically involve submitting a resume, completing recruiter screening, and progressing through technical or behavioral interview rounds before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Accounting Associate roles?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT work authorization for Accounting Associates, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for longer-term employees. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens and TN visa to Canadian and Mexican nationals, both offering simpler paths than the H-1B lottery for eligible candidates.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect from Accounting Associate candidates?
Accounting Associate candidates at CrossCountry Consulting are generally expected to hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with CPA eligibility being a strong differentiator. Familiarity with financial reporting standards, audit methodologies, or ERP systems is valued. Prior internship or advisory firm experience, even at a junior level, meaningfully strengthens your application for client-facing consulting roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Accounting Associates at CrossCountry Consulting?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN approvals can be obtained within a few weeks through consular processing or a port of entry. H-1B sponsorship under the annual cap takes longer, with lottery selection in March, USCIS adjudication over the following months, and an October 1 start date. USCIS premium processing, if used, reduces adjudication to roughly 15 business days.
