Align Your Credentials With CPA Expectations
CrossCountry Consulting's Finance roles sit inside an Accounting and Auditing practice, so a CPA license or active candidacy carries real weight. If you're internationally trained, confirm your credentials are recognized by your state board before applying.
Target Advisory Roles That Justify H-1B Sponsorship
Consulting firms sponsor H-1B petitions most consistently for roles requiring a specific degree field, not general finance experience. Focus your applications on positions tied to financial advisory, technical accounting, or audit services where a specialty occupation case is straightforward.
Flag Your OPT or E-3 Status Early
If you're on F-1 OPT or hold Australian citizenship, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors both pathways for Finance hires. Disclosing your status before the offer stage prevents delays, since your employer needs to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Finance Roles
Sponsorship-eligible Finance positions at CrossCountry Consulting aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Finance openings at employers with a verified sponsorship history, so you're targeting roles where the process is already established.
Prepare for a Multi-Stage Interview Tied to Engagement Type
CrossCountry Consulting interviews Finance candidates around specific engagement areas like transaction advisory or technical accounting policy. Align your examples to the engagement type in the job description before your first screen, since generalist finance experience rarely advances past early rounds.
Understand PERM Timelines If You Want Permanent Residency
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Finance roles, but PERM labor certification through the DOL typically takes over a year before USCIS even receives your I-140 petition. Raise green card intent with your recruiter during offer negotiations, not after you've already started.

Find Finance at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions, particularly in technical accounting, financial advisory, and audit functions where a specialty occupation can be established. Because H-1B status requires a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before filing, confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter at the offer stage, not after signing.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can apply directly through CrossCountry Consulting's careers portal or find sponsorship-eligible Finance openings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific engagement area listed, such as transaction advisory or technical accounting, since their Finance practice is organized around distinct service lines rather than general finance functions.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Finance hires?
CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored Finance candidates on H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT, as well as immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and is often faster to process than H-1B since it has no lottery. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying professional categories under the USMCA.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for sponsored Finance roles?
Finance roles at CrossCountry Consulting typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, and many positions favor active CPA candidacy or licensure. For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific degree field, not just a general business background, must be tied directly to the job duties.
How do I handle visa timing when joining CrossCountry Consulting on an existing visa?
If you're transferring an existing H-1B, your new employer files a portability petition with USCIS and you can start once it's received, not just approved. For F-1 OPT candidates, your start date must fall within your authorized OPT period, and your employer needs a certified LCA from the DOL in place beforehand. Build at least four to six weeks of buffer between your offer acceptance and target start date.
