By joining our rapidly growing Private Equity practice you will serve as a trusted partner to our clients. You’ll bring your first-hand experience, unique perspectives, and functional knowledge to deliver tailored integrated solutions that help our clients solve today’s challenges and set the foundation for future success. As an Associate Director at CrossCountry Consulting you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, leading teams and developing junior team members, and participating in business development activities. In today’s competitive deal market, Private Equity is increasingly turning to operational enhancements as a driver for value creation in their investment portfolio. As SaaS and AI-driven business models evolve, portfolio companies face mounting complexity around usage-based billing, consumption pricing, and ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition. It is essential for Private Equity funds to have a portfolio support team, either internally or externally, to guide CFOs as they build scalable billing and revenue management capabilities that support the investment thesis. We are experienced operators who serve as an extension of leading Private Equity sponsors to drive meaningful and sustainable operational changes across their portfolios.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve clients across the “Office of the CFO” at private equity portfolio companies specializing in Software, SaaS, and AI-enabled technology businesses by evaluating current billing and revenue recognition practices and providing recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the quote-to-cash and revenue management functions.
Act as a billing and revenue management SME across platforms (NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)/ SuiteBilling, Zone Billing, Zuora Revenue (RevPro), and related subscription/usage-based tools), including guidance on configuring revenue rules, allocations, amortization schedules, and automated revenue waterfall reporting.
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of usage-based and consumption billing models to support AI-era pricing strategies, including metered billing, tiered consumption, prepaid credit drawdown, and hybrid subscription-plus-usage structures.
Help companies operationalize ASC 606 / IFRS 15-compliant revenue recognition policies, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, stand-alone selling price (SSP) allocation, and contract modification accounting within their billing and ERP systems.
Lead cross-functional project teams (NetSuite consultants, billing platform specialists, Private Equity consultants, and client stakeholders) across billing, revenue, and financial reporting workstreams, while mentoring team members through coaching, feedback and annual performance reviews to resolve multi-faceted issues.
Design and implement integration architectures between billing platforms, CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERP (NetSuite), CPQ tools, and data warehouses to create a seamless quote-to-revenue data flow.
Work with your project team to develop management reporting and analytics around key SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, net revenue retention, usage/consumption trends, and product-level profitability.
Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives and Private Equity sponsors, collaborating with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
Actively participate in business development opportunities and market a full range of billing, revenue, and technology enablement services to prospective clients, including using existing relationships to generate new opportunities.
Guide customers through the change management process associated with billing system migrations and revenue recognition policy changes, providing resources and strategies to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved, AI-enabled solutions for clients, in accordance with company policies on data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards.

Frame Your CPA or Advisory Credentials Early
Development Directors at CrossCountry Consulting work across accounting and auditing client engagements, so credentials like a CPA, CMA, or Big Four advisory background signal direct fit. Gather your transcripts, licensure documentation, and degree evaluations before you apply.
Target Offices With Active Client Portfolios
CrossCountry Consulting staffs Development Directors against active client demand, not headcount plans. Research which offices are winning new accounting and auditing mandates, since sponsorship decisions follow workload, not calendar cycles.
Clarify Your Visa Category Before Interviews
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and Green Card pathways for this role. Knowing which category fits your citizenship and timeline lets you answer sponsorship questions with specifics rather than deflecting, which builds recruiter confidence at the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Development Director roles at CrossCountry Consulting are distributed across multiple offices and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter live openings by visa sponsorship type so you can prioritize applications before requisitions fill.
Negotiate Start Date Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, the annual lottery registration window runs in March with an October 1 start date if selected. Build that calendar into your offer negotiation with CrossCountry Consulting so neither side is caught by a timing gap.

Find Development Director at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Development Directors?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Development Director roles. Because Development Director positions require a specific body of expertise in accounting and auditing advisory work, they generally meet USCIS specialty occupation standards. Your employer handles the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS, but you'll need to confirm cap-subject or cap-exempt eligibility based on your prior H-1B history before the offer stage.
How do I apply for Development Director jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
Browse open Development Director positions on Migrate Mate, where CrossCountry Consulting listings are filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm fit before applying. Prepare a resume that reflects client-facing leadership in accounting or auditing advisory engagements, since the firm's hiring managers evaluate business development track record and sector depth alongside technical qualifications. Applying directly through a verified job board shortens the screening cycle.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly sponsor for Development Directors?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for employment-based work authorization, along with TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The firm also supports F-1 OPT extensions for recent graduates and sponsors Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree field, and how long you've been in the U.S., so clarify your situation before the offer stage.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for a sponsored Development Director?
CrossCountry Consulting Development Directors are expected to bring proven client relationship management experience within accounting, auditing, or financial advisory services, typically built at a Big Four, national advisory, or large regional firm. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is standard, and active CPA licensure or equivalent credentialing strengthens your candidacy. Prior experience leading pursuit teams or managing revenue targets in a professional services context is weighted heavily at this level.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Development Director hire at CrossCountry Consulting?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN sponsorships can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an offer, since neither requires USCIS approval before your start date. H-1B sponsorship for a cap-subject candidate requires fitting the annual March lottery, with work authorization beginning October 1 if selected. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for EB-2 or EB-3 typically runs one to three years from initiation. Confirm your category early so you and the firm can align on a realistic start date.
