Frame your credentials around client-facing advisory work
CrossCountry's Strategy roles sit at the intersection of finance transformation and management consulting. When preparing your resume and portfolio, lead with project outcomes for clients in regulated industries like financial services or healthcare rather than internal operational achievements.
Verify your degree supports a specialty occupation filing
Strategy roles can face USCIS scrutiny if the job description is broad. Before applying, confirm your degree field directly aligns with the advertised role. A finance or economics degree supporting a financial strategy position is a stronger fit than a general business degree.
Target CrossCountry's accounting and audit practice verticals
CrossCountry staffs Strategy hires against specific service lines, including accounting advisory and finance operations. Applying to roles tied to these verticals increases your visibility with hiring managers who regularly work with international candidates and understand the sponsorship process.
Ask about LCA timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting an H-1B petition to USCIS. If you're on OPT with a cap-gap or an expiring EAD, confirm CrossCountry has initiated the LCA before you set a start date to avoid a gap in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Strategy roles by visa type
CrossCountry posts Strategy openings across multiple practice areas, and not all roles are tagged the same way. Use Migrate Mate to filter current openings by visa sponsorship category so you can prioritize roles that match your specific authorization situation.
Prepare for a structured case interview specific to accounting advisory
CrossCountry's Strategy interview process typically includes case-style assessments grounded in finance or operational scenarios. Candidates who demonstrate fluency with accounting concepts alongside strategic frameworks perform better than those who rely solely on generalist consulting frameworks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. The firm has an established sponsorship track record across its consulting practices. Because Strategy positions are assessed as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, your degree field should directly align with the role. If you're currently on OPT, confirm that your offer timeline accounts for H-1B cap registration in April.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse and apply for Strategy roles at CrossCountry Consulting directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type. CrossCountry typically expects candidates with relevant consulting or finance advisory experience. Tailor your application to the specific service line, such as accounting advisory or finance transformation, rather than submitting a generic consulting resume.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Strategy roles?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors multiple visa categories for Strategy professionals, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and how long you need work authorization to remain active.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Strategy roles?
CrossCountry typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's or advanced degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field. Prior experience in management consulting, accounting advisory, or finance transformation is a strong differentiator. For sponsored positions, your degree must support the specialty occupation classification USCIS requires, so a direct connection between your field of study and the role's responsibilities matters.
How do I manage my visa timeline when pursuing a Strategy offer at CrossCountry Consulting?
Timeline planning depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in that H-1B cap registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you're transferring from another employer on H-1B, CrossCountry can file a transfer petition and you can start working once USCIS receives it. For E-3 or TN holders, the process moves faster since these categories are not subject to the annual cap.
