Frame Your Experience Around Hardware Cycles
HP's Strategy teams prioritize candidates who understand product lifecycle planning in electronics and hardware. Tailor your resume to show experience with roadmap development, supply chain strategy, or adjacent markets rather than generic corporate strategy work.
Target HP's Corporate and Business Unit Teams
HP operates distinct Strategy functions at the corporate level and within its Print and Personal Systems divisions. Applying to roles within a specific business unit signals focus and often leads to faster traction than applying broadly across the company.
Confirm Sponsorship Before Accepting Any Offer
HP sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for Strategy roles, but sponsorship decisions are made at the hiring manager and HR level. Ask directly during the offer stage which visa type they intend to file and whether premium processing is standard for this function.
Prepare for PERM's Long Documentation Requirements
If HP moves you toward an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, PERM requires extensive documentation of your qualifications and the role's requirements. Gather your degree transcripts, employment records, and any foreign credential evaluations well before the process starts.
Use Migrate Mate to Find HP Strategy Openings
HP's Strategy roles with confirmed visa sponsorship aren't always easy to identify from general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for HP Strategy positions where sponsorship has been verified, so you can prioritize your applications efficiently.

Find Strategy at HP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HP sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, HP sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. HP is a well-established H-1B employer in the electronics and hardware sector, and Strategy is a function where international sponsorship is supported. Cap-subject candidates should align their timelines with the annual USCIS lottery registration in March, with an October 1 start date if selected.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at HP?
You can apply through HP's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where HP has a track record of sponsoring international candidates. When applying, tailor your materials to HP's hardware and print business context, and be explicit about your visa status and authorization timeline in early conversations with recruiters.
Which visa types does HP commonly use for Strategy roles?
HP sponsors H-1B visas for most Strategy hires requiring cap-subject sponsorship. Australian citizens can also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is typically faster to process. For longer-term immigration, HP supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which involve a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the immigrant petition stage.
What qualifications does HP expect for Strategy roles?
HP's Strategy roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field, with an MBA preferred for senior positions. Relevant experience in corporate strategy, competitive analysis, or go-to-market planning in a technology or hardware environment is valued. Exposure to HP's core markets, including commercial PCs, print, and peripherals, strengthens a candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for HP Strategy hires?
For H-1B cap-subject candidates, the process runs roughly six to eight months from lottery registration in March to the October 1 start date. E-3 processing at a U.S. consulate in Australia typically takes two to six weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs considerably longer, often two or more years from initiation to an approved I-140, depending on priority date movement and DOL processing times.
