Tailor your resume to HP's sales motion
HP's Sales teams focus on enterprise accounts and channel partners, not transactional retail. Highlight quota attainment, solution selling, and experience with hardware or software ecosystems. Generic sales resumes rarely clear initial screens for roles at this level.
Target roles that match your visa category
HP sponsors both H-1B and E-3 visas for Sales positions, but eligibility depends on the role meeting specialty occupation standards. Focus on technical sales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting titles, which have a stronger connection to degree-level requirements than generalist account management roles.
Find open Sales roles on Migrate Mate
Browse HP's current Sales openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. You can identify which roles HP is actively hiring for and prioritize applications before requisitions close or headcount freezes take effect.
Clarify sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Ask your HP recruiter whether the specific role and hiring manager have approved visa sponsorship before progressing through multiple interview rounds. Large electronics companies often have business-unit-level budgets for sponsorship that don't apply uniformly across all Sales openings.
Understand the LCA filing requirement before your start date
Before HP can file your H-1B petition with USCIS, a Labor Condition Application must be certified by the DOL. This step takes at least seven business days and must happen before the I-129 is submitted, so factor it into your expected start date negotiation.
Prepare a degree-to-role narrative for specialty occupation review
USCIS scrutinizes whether Sales roles genuinely require a specific bachelor's degree. Build a clear case connecting your degree field, such as business, engineering, or information systems, to the technical or analytical demands of the HP Sales position you're targeting.

Find Sales at HP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HP sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, HP sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions, particularly roles with a technical or solution-oriented focus such as enterprise sales, solutions consulting, and channel sales engineering. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every Sales opening, so confirming availability with your recruiter before advancing through the interview process is essential.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at HP?
You can browse HP's current Sales openings filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify relevant roles without manually sorting through listings that don't offer sponsorship. Once you identify a target role, apply through HP's careers portal and note your visa requirements in early recruiter conversations to avoid misalignment later in the process.
Which visa types does HP commonly sponsor for Sales positions?
HP sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for Sales roles, as well as supporting Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. Australian citizens working in technical or enterprise Sales positions are well positioned for the E-3, which has no lottery and can be initiated faster than the H-1B cap-subject process.
What qualifications does HP expect for sponsored Sales roles?
HP's sponsored Sales positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, computer science, or information systems, combined with demonstrable B2B sales experience. Roles in enterprise or technical sales often carry expectations around quota performance, familiarity with hardware or software solutions, and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
How do I plan my timeline for visa sponsorship with HP?
If you're applying for an H-1B, the cap-subject filing window opens in March for an October 1 start date, so offers received after April typically mean waiting a full year unless you qualify for a cap-exempt path. E-3 applicants have more flexibility since there's no lottery. Factor in DOL Labor Condition Application certification time, which takes at least seven business days, before HP can complete the USCIS filing.
