Align Your CPA Credentials Before Applying
CrossCountry Consulting prioritizes Consultants with accounting credentials that map directly to client-facing advisory work. If your CPA is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from NASBA before your first interview so there are no surprises during hiring.
Target Practice Areas That Match Your Background
CrossCountry staffs Consultants across technical accounting, internal audit, and financial reporting. Applying into the practice area that matches your prior experience, rather than applying broadly, signals fit to recruiters and shortens the sponsorship conversation.
Search Open Consultant Roles Through Migrate Mate
CrossCountry Consulting's Consultant openings span multiple service lines and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles that list H-1B, E-3, or OPT sponsorship so you're only spending time on positions where your visa status is already accounted for.
Prepare a DOL-Ready Employment Verification Package
For PERM-based Green Card pathways under EB-2 or EB-3, CrossCountry's legal team will need documentation of your qualifications tied to the specific Consultant role. Organize your degree transcripts, employment letters, and any professional licenses before the process begins.
Leverage TN Status If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Accountants and management consultants qualify under the TN visa category. If you're Canadian or Mexican, TN status can get you working at CrossCountry faster than H-1B processing timelines, without waiting for cap registration or USCIS adjudication.

Find Consultant at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Consultant roles. If you're a current H-1B holder, you can transfer your petition when joining the firm. If you need cap-subject sponsorship, the timing matters: USCIS opens H-1B registration in March, with work authorization starting October 1 if selected. Factor that into your offer negotiation timeline.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can apply directly through CrossCountry Consulting's careers page, or browse their open Consultant roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific practice area, whether that's technical accounting, internal audit, or financial advisory, and be upfront about your visa status in early recruiter conversations to avoid delays later.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly sponsor for Consultant roles?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors a range of visa types for Consultants, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals. For longer-term pathways, the firm has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which typically becomes available after you've established a track record in the role.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for sponsored Consultant positions?
CrossCountry Consultant roles typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and many positions expect CPA eligibility or licensure. Client-facing advisory experience in areas like financial reporting, internal controls, or audit is valued over generalist backgrounds. For visa sponsorship, your degree must directly support the specialty occupation standard that USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive a Consultant offer from CrossCountry Consulting?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type. TN status for Canadian citizens can be obtained at the border in a single day. E-3 consular processing typically takes two to six weeks. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's annual schedule, meaning you could wait six months or more before your start date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs on a longer timeline, often one to three years from initiation to approval.
