By joining our rapidly growing Private Equity practice you will serve as a trusted partner to our clients. You’ll bring your first-hand experience, unique perspectives, and functional knowledge to deliver tailored integrated solutions that help our clients solve today’s challenges and set the foundation for future success. As an Associate Director at CrossCountry Consulting you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, leading teams and developing junior team members, and participating in business development activities. In today’s competitive deal market, Private Equity is increasingly turning to operational enhancements as a driver for value creation in their investment portfolio. As SaaS and AI-driven business models evolve, portfolio companies face mounting complexity around usage-based billing, consumption pricing, and ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition. It is essential for Private Equity funds to have a portfolio support team, either internally or externally, to guide CFOs as they build scalable billing and revenue management capabilities that support the investment thesis. We are experienced operators who serve as an extension of leading Private Equity sponsors to drive meaningful and sustainable operational changes across their portfolios.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve clients across the “Office of the CFO” at private equity portfolio companies specializing in Software, SaaS, and AI-enabled technology businesses by evaluating current billing and revenue recognition practices and providing recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the quote-to-cash and revenue management functions.
Act as a billing and revenue management SME across platforms (NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)/ SuiteBilling, Zone Billing, Zuora Revenue (RevPro), and related subscription/usage-based tools), including guidance on configuring revenue rules, allocations, amortization schedules, and automated revenue waterfall reporting.
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of usage-based and consumption billing models to support AI-era pricing strategies, including metered billing, tiered consumption, prepaid credit drawdown, and hybrid subscription-plus-usage structures.
Help companies operationalize ASC 606 / IFRS 15-compliant revenue recognition policies, including multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, stand-alone selling price (SSP) allocation, and contract modification accounting within their billing and ERP systems.
Lead cross-functional project teams (NetSuite consultants, billing platform specialists, Private Equity consultants, and client stakeholders) across billing, revenue, and financial reporting workstreams, while mentoring team members through coaching, feedback and annual performance reviews to resolve multi-faceted issues.
Design and implement integration architectures between billing platforms, CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERP (NetSuite), CPQ tools, and data warehouses to create a seamless quote-to-revenue data flow.
Work with your project team to develop management reporting and analytics around key SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, net revenue retention, usage/consumption trends, and product-level profitability.
Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives and Private Equity sponsors, collaborating with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
Actively participate in business development opportunities and market a full range of billing, revenue, and technology enablement services to prospective clients, including using existing relationships to generate new opportunities.
Guide customers through the change management process associated with billing system migrations and revenue recognition policy changes, providing resources and strategies to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved, AI-enabled solutions for clients, in accordance with company policies on data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards.
Stay informed about emerging AI tools and techniques and collaborate with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client solutions and internal processes.
* Proactively identify and address project risks and issues related to billing accuracy, revenue compliance, and system integration, implementing effective mitigation strategies.

Frame Your Credentials Around Client-Facing Outcomes
CrossCountry Consulting values business development professionals who can demonstrate measurable pipeline growth or client acquisition results. Before applying, reframe your resume around revenue contributions and relationship outcomes, not just activity metrics or internal project work.
Verify Your Degree Field Supports Specialty Occupation Status
H-1B eligibility for Business Development Associate roles at consulting firms requires your degree to align with the specific position. A background in business administration, marketing, or finance typically satisfies USCIS specialty occupation requirements better than a general liberal arts degree.
Target CrossCountry's Accounting Advisory Practice Groups First
CrossCountry Consulting organizes business development around industry verticals. Targeting roles tied to accounting and auditing advisory lines improves your fit score with hiring managers and signals you understand the firm's service delivery model, which matters at offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles Before They Fill
CrossCountry Consulting posts Business Development Associate openings across multiple practice areas simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for their open roles by visa type so you can prioritize applications to positions where sponsorship is actively available.
Clarify Your Visa Timeline Before the Final Interview Round
If you're on F-1 OPT, know your exact OPT expiration date before final rounds. CrossCountry's HR team needs to assess whether cap-gap coverage or an H-1B filing window aligns with your start date, and surfacing this early prevents late-stage offer complications.
Understand How PERM Affects Long-Term Sponsorship Planning
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship at a consulting firm, DOL's PERM process requires your employer to conduct a formal labor market test. Ask your recruiter whether CrossCountry initiates PERM for Business Development Associates after a defined tenure period.

Find Business Development Associate at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Associates?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development Associates. The H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning your degree field must align directly with the position. Business administration, finance, and marketing degrees are the most common credentials supporting H-1B eligibility for this function at consulting firms.
How do I apply for Business Development Associate jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can apply directly through CrossCountry Consulting's careers page, where openings are listed by practice area. Migrate Mate also aggregates their visa-sponsoring roles in one place, letting you filter specifically for Business Development Associate positions where sponsorship is available. Tailor your application to the firm's accounting and auditing advisory focus for the strongest fit.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly sponsor for Business Development Associates?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT extensions for Business Development Associates, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT covers your initial work authorization period while an H-1B petition is prepared.
What qualifications are expected for Business Development Associate roles at CrossCountry Consulting?
CrossCountry Consulting typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in client development, proposal management, or professional services sales. Familiarity with accounting or auditing advisory services is a strong differentiator. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree field must also support the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development Associate at CrossCountry Consulting?
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file by the April 1 deadline for an October 1 start, assuming you clear the lottery. USCIS standard processing takes three to six months; premium processing reduces that to about 15 business days. If you're on F-1 OPT with cap-gap coverage, you're authorized to continue working through the wait. E-3 and TN sponsorships move faster, often processing within a few weeks at a U.S. consulate.
