- You are persuasive and effective at aligning partners and internal stakeholders around a shared opportunity
- You enjoy working cross-functionally and have a track record of influencing teams to drive outcomes
- You demonstrate strong ownership across multiple projects and workstreams, with the ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution
- You are humble, hungry, and biased toward action, and you are willing to get in the weeds when needed
- You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable using structured thinking and imperfect data to make sound recommendations
- You solve problems from first principles and are energized by tackling complex challenges in strategic and creative ways

Tailor your resume to DoorDash's BD structure
DoorDash's Business Development teams focus on merchant acquisition, partner growth, and vertical expansion. Frame your experience around revenue impact, pipeline management, and cross-functional collaboration rather than generalist relationship-building to clear their initial screen.
Target roles in DoorDash's merchant verticals
DoorDash organizes BD hiring around verticals like grocery, convenience, and restaurant chains. Applying to openings tied to a vertical where you have domain knowledge gives your application a concrete angle that generic BD candidates can't match.
Verify your visa category qualifies before applying
DoorDash sponsors multiple visa categories for this role, including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Confirm your current status and timeline align with their hiring cycle before submitting, since OPT cap-gap windows and H-1B transfer timelines affect start date negotiations.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
DoorDash recruiters handle high application volumes for BD roles. Stating your visa status and the specific sponsorship type you need in your first recruiter call removes ambiguity and prevents late-stage offer complications when legal review begins.
Use Migrate Mate to filter DoorDash BD openings by visa type
BD roles at DoorDash appear across locations and seniority levels, and not all postings clearly indicate sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate lets you filter DoorDash Business Development Associate jobs by the visa categories they actively sponsor, saving you time on mismatched applications.
Prepare for PERM labor market requirements if targeting Green Card
If your goal is permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, DoorDash will need to complete a DOL PERM recruitment process. Understanding that PERM requires demonstrated market testing means you should plan for a multi-year sponsorship timeline from day one of employment.

Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Associates?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Associate roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, economics, or a related discipline. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, DoorDash can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Business Development Associate jobs at DoorDash?
Applications go through DoorDash's careers portal at careers.doordash.com. Search for Business Development Associate openings filtered by location and team vertical. You can also browse and filter DoorDash BD roles by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces active postings relevant to your immigration status. Tailor your application to the specific vertical or product area the role supports.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Business Development Associates?
DoorDash sponsors a range of visa types for this role, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT. For longer-term permanent residence, DoorDash also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for qualifying employees who have established tenure in the role.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for a Business Development Associate?
DoorDash generally looks for a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, combined with experience in sales, partnerships, or account management. Strong analytical skills and comfort with CRM tools like Salesforce are commonly referenced in postings. Candidates with experience in marketplace businesses, logistics, or consumer technology have a meaningful advantage given DoorDash's operating model.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from DoorDash?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B transfers for candidates already in H-1B status can allow work authorization within days of USCIS receipt. New H-1B cap-subject petitions require waiting for the April lottery and an October 1 start date. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often resolving within a few weeks. USCIS premium processing, currently available for H-1B petitions, reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days.
