Frame your credentials around client-facing advisory work
CrossCountry's BD roles sit at the intersection of accounting, advisory services, and relationship management. When preparing your resume, emphasize experience winning or expanding professional services engagements, not just sales volume. That framing aligns with how the firm defines the role internally.
Target CrossCountry's industry verticals strategically
CrossCountry organizes its BD function around specific verticals including financial services, private equity, and government contracting. Identifying which vertical matches your background before you apply strengthens your fit signal and gives you a concrete conversation anchor in interviews.
Confirm your visa type before the offer stage
CrossCountry sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Knowing which category applies to your nationality and degree field before negotiations start prevents delays. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early since BD roles at consulting firms often qualify under business operations.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active CrossCountry openings
CrossCountry posts BD roles across multiple locations and practice areas at once, and the listings cycle quickly. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Business Development Consultant positions at CrossCountry that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than chasing stale postings.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term sponsorship path
If CrossCountry sponsors you for an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the DOL's PERM labor certification process will be your starting point. For BD roles, the employer must document that no qualified U.S. worker was available, so your offer letter and job duties need to reflect a genuinely specialized function.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start. CrossCountry's recruiting cycles don't always align with that window, so clarifying your timeline with your recruiter early prevents situations where an offer is extended but your start date is months away.

Find Business Development Consultant at CrossCountry Consulting JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CrossCountry Consulting sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants?
Yes, CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants. The firm operates across accounting and advisory practices where BD roles involve specialized knowledge in professional services sales, client relationship management, and market expansion. These functions can qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, particularly when tied to a specific degree field such as business, finance, or accounting.
Which visa types does CrossCountry Consulting commonly use for Business Development Consultant roles?
CrossCountry Consulting sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Development Consultants. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, while Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN for business development functions. F-1 OPT holders are also eligible, and STEM OPT extensions may apply depending on how the BD role is classified.
What qualifications does CrossCountry Consulting expect for Business Development Consultant positions?
CrossCountry's BD roles in accounting and advisory services typically require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, along with demonstrable experience generating or expanding professional services engagements. Familiarity with the firm's core verticals, including financial services or private equity, strengthens your candidacy. Prior consulting firm experience, even in a delivery role, is valued because it signals you understand the sales cycle in that environment.
How do I apply for Business Development Consultant jobs at CrossCountry Consulting?
You can browse and apply for Business Development Consultant roles at CrossCountry Consulting directly through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions that include visa sponsorship. CrossCountry posts openings across multiple practice areas and locations simultaneously, so checking regularly and applying early matters. Before submitting, tailor your application to reflect the specific vertical or practice area the role supports rather than sending a generic resume.
How do I manage the timing between a CrossCountry offer and my visa filing process?
The gap between receiving an offer and your authorized start date depends on which visa pathway applies. H-1B cap-subject petitions have a fixed October 1 start after a March lottery, which can mean a months-long wait. E-3 and TN petitions move faster, often within a few weeks of filing. For OPT holders, confirm your current authorization end date and whether a cap-gap or STEM extension covers the transition period before accepting.
