Align your experience to Deloitte's sector focus
Deloitte's Business Development Consultant roles are organized by industry vertical, not generalist sales. Highlight experience in a specific sector like financial services, government, or technology to match how their teams are actually structured.
Prepare a portfolio of client-facing outcomes
Deloitte evaluates Business Development candidates on measurable pipeline contributions and relationship development. Before applying, document specific deals supported, stakeholders managed, and revenue influenced so interviewers can assess your commercial track record directly.
Search open roles through Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-confirmed positions
Not all Deloitte postings surface visa sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse Business Development Consultant openings confirmed to support sponsored candidates, saving you the guesswork of chasing roles that won't move forward.
Target Deloitte's campus and experienced hire tracks separately
Deloitte recruits Business Development Consultants through both campus pipelines and experienced hire programs. If you're on OPT, apply during the fall recruiting cycle. Experienced hires can engage directly through the careers portal year-round.
Understand your visa timeline before accepting an offer
If you need an H-1B, the USCIS annual cap and lottery mean you may wait up to a year before your status changes. Clarify with your Deloitte recruiter whether they'll bridge you on OPT extension or explore cap-exempt filing options before you sign.
Verify your right-to-work documentation matches Deloitte's E-Verify obligations
Deloitte participates in E-Verify, which means your work authorization is confirmed during onboarding. If your status is expiring soon, resolve any USCIS-pending extensions before your start date to avoid a gap that triggers an automatic verification failure.

Find Business Development Consultant at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants. The firm has an established immigration support infrastructure and works with legal counsel to file petitions for qualifying roles. Because H-1B approvals are subject to the USCIS annual cap and lottery, timing your offer acceptance relative to the April filing window matters and is worth discussing with your recruiter early in the process.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Business Development Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Business Development Consultants, along with the E-3 visa for Australian citizens. For longer-term pathways, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically after a period of employment. The right visa category depends on your nationality, degree background, and how the role is classified under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I apply for Business Development Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal at deloitte.com/careers. Roles are organized by service line and geography, so filtering by location and business function helps narrow the list. If you need visa sponsorship, confirm the specific role supports it before investing time in the process. Migrate Mate lists Deloitte Business Development Consultant openings that are confirmed to consider sponsored candidates, which can help you focus your search.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Business Development Consultant roles?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience supporting proposal development, client acquisition, or account growth in a professional services or consulting context. Familiarity with Deloitte's industry sectors, particularly financial services, government contracting, or technology, strengthens your application significantly. Some senior roles require prior consulting firm experience.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Deloitte?
From offer to start date, the process typically runs two to four months for candidates who already hold valid work authorization. For H-1B cap-subject candidates, the timeline extends considerably because USCIS registration opens in March, selections occur in April, and the earliest an approved H-1B can take effect is October 1. Planning around that annual cycle is essential if you're transitioning off OPT or another temporary status.
