Frame your credentials for specialty occupation review
KPMG's H-1B petitions for Business Development Consultants require demonstrating that the role meets specialty occupation standards. Gather transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations, and any professional certifications before you start applying to avoid delays once an offer is extended.
Target KPMG's advisory and consulting practice lines
Business Development Consultant openings at KPMG cluster within advisory, deals, and industry-specific practice groups rather than corporate functions. Searching by practice line, not just job title, surfaces roles where sponsorship is most likely built into the hiring budget.
Use Migrate Mate to filter KPMG openings by visa type
Not every KPMG Business Development role will flag sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for positions at KPMG where H-1B or E-3 sponsorship has been offered, saving you time before investing in the application process.
Understand where the E-3 gives you an edge
Australian citizens applying for Business Development Consultant roles at KPMG can pursue the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. This means you can accept an offer and begin work within weeks rather than waiting for an October 1 start date tied to the annual cap cycle.
Align your offer timing with KPMG's recruiting cycles
KPMG typically runs structured consulting recruitment in late summer and early spring. Receiving an offer outside those windows can mean a longer wait for internal sponsorship approvals, so targeting these cycles directly reduces the gap between offer and filing.
Clarify Green Card sponsorship policy before accepting
KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for eligible roles, but the PERM labor certification process is employer-initiated and not automatic. Ask during the offer stage which practice group you'd be joining and whether that group has a track record of filing PERM for this position level.

Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Consultant roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. The role typically needs to involve client advisory work, strategy, or industry analysis at a level that satisfies USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Internal approval processes vary by practice group, so confirming sponsorship eligibility during the offer stage is essential.
How do I apply for Business Development Consultant jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, but roles that include visa sponsorship aren't always labeled clearly. Migrate Mate surfaces KPMG Business Development Consultant openings filtered by sponsorship type, making it straightforward to identify which positions match your visa situation before applying. Tailoring your resume to reflect client-facing impact, revenue contribution, and industry expertise is important for clearing KPMG's screening process.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Business Development Consultant roles?
KPMG most commonly sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Consultants, with E-3 visas available for Australian citizens as an alternative that sidesteps the annual lottery. For candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT, KPMG's size and E-Verify participation support that work authorization through the transition period. Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 or EB-3 category is available for longer-tenured employees, initiated through the PERM process.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Business Development Consultant roles?
KPMG generally expects a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, with preference for candidates who have client-facing or strategy experience within accounting, advisory, or professional services. Industry-specific knowledge, particularly in sectors KPMG serves such as financial services, healthcare, or technology, strengthens your application. For sponsored roles, the degree must align closely with the job duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I think about the timeline for visa sponsorship at KPMG?
For H-1B sponsorship, KPMG typically files in April for an October 1 start date, meaning candidates who receive offers in late winter or spring face a six-month wait if they're cap-subject. Australian citizens on the E-3 can move faster since there's no lottery or fixed start date. USCIS premium processing is available for H-1B petitions, reducing the adjudication window from several months to roughly 15 business days once filed.
