Frame your HR credentials around U.S. compliance
KPMG's HR function operates under strict U.S. labor law requirements. Before applying, map your experience to EEOC, FMLA, and ADA compliance work. Reviewers screening for HR Manager candidates will prioritize applicants who can demonstrate U.S.-specific regulatory fluency from day one.
Target KPMG's advisory-aligned HR openings
KPMG staffs HR Managers across both its internal people operations and its client-facing advisory lines. Roles tied to the People and Change practice or workforce transformation engagements are more likely to justify specialty occupation status under H-1B criteria than generalist administrative HR postings.
Confirm your degree field matches the role's requirements
For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the specific HR Manager role. A degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or Industrial Relations maps cleanly. Business Administration degrees may require additional documentation to establish that nexus.
Ask about E-3 eligibility early in the process
If you hold Australian citizenship, raise the E-3 visa option directly with KPMG's recruiting team before an offer is drafted. E-3 applications bypass the H-1B lottery and can be processed on a consular timeline, which matters when KPMG needs to fill a role before the next fiscal year cap opens.
Understand where USCIS scrutinizes HR Manager petitions
USCIS sometimes issues Requests for Evidence on HR Manager petitions, questioning whether the role genuinely requires a specialized degree rather than general experience. KPMG's legal team typically addresses this, but you can support your case by ensuring your resume reflects analytical, strategic, and compliance-heavy responsibilities rather than administrative tasks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources Managers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources Manager roles. The firm treats HR as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline. KPMG's dedicated immigration team manages the H-1B petition process internally, which is an advantage for candidates who haven't navigated a large employer's sponsorship workflow before.
How do I apply for Human Resources Manager jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where you can filter by function and location. For visa-sponsored openings specifically, Migrate Mate surfaces verified KPMG Human Resources Manager listings where sponsorship is confirmed, saving you from applying to roles where it isn't available. Tailor your resume to reflect U.S. HR compliance experience, as KPMG's screening process weighs regulatory fluency heavily for this function.
What visa types does KPMG commonly use for Human Resources Manager roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for HR Manager positions, as this category covers specialty occupations requiring a directly related degree. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3 visa, which functions similarly to the H-1B but operates outside the annual lottery. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, KPMG has a track record of supporting EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa petitions through the PERM labor certification process for HR professionals in qualifying roles.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for a Human Resources Manager with visa sponsorship?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a related field, along with progressive HR experience that includes at least some exposure to talent strategy, workforce planning, or HR compliance. For H-1B purposes, the role must require that specific degree, so candidates with broader business backgrounds may face additional documentation requirements. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR strengthen your candidacy and help establish specialty occupation standing.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining KPMG as an HR Manager?
For H-1B transfers from another employer, KPMG can file on your behalf and you can begin work upon receipt of the new petition, provided you're maintaining valid status. For new H-1B cap filings, the annual lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date, so there can be a gap of several months between offer and start. E-3 visa consular processing in Australia typically takes two to four weeks once the Labor Condition Application is certified by DOL.
