Align your HR credentials to U.S. standards
CBRE's HR roles in construction and real estate often require SHRM-CP or PHR certification. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a formal equivalency evaluation before applying so hiring managers can assess your qualifications without guesswork.
Target CBRE's enterprise and regional HR openings
CBRE posts Human Resources Manager roles across its Advisory, Real Estate Investments, and Global Workplace Solutions divisions. Roles tied to large project portfolios or regional business units are more likely to carry dedicated headcount approvals and sponsorship flexibility.
Understand which visa types fit HR specialty roles
Human Resources Manager positions typically qualify as H-1B specialty occupations when a relevant bachelor's degree is required. CBRE also sponsors TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR classifications, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
Time your application around CBRE's hiring cycles
CBRE's fiscal calendar and large commercial real estate transaction cycles drive HR headcount decisions. Applying in Q4 or early Q1 positions you ahead of headcount approvals for the following year, which matters if your employer needs to file an H-1B petition before the April 1 window.
Confirm PERM eligibility before accepting an offer
If you're targeting a Green Card through employment, ask your CBRE recruiter early whether the role has been or can be designated for PERM labor certification. HR roles at large real estate firms often qualify, but the process requires the position to be clearly documented as a permanent need.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsorship-confirmed HR openings
Not every CBRE job listing signals whether visa sponsorship is available for that specific role. Use Migrate Mate to filter Human Resources Manager positions at CBRE that are confirmed for sponsorship, saving time you'd otherwise spend chasing listings that don't apply to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources Managers?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for Human Resources Manager roles where the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Psychology. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines. CBRE has an established process for sponsoring both new H-1B petitions and H-1B transfers for candidates already in valid status.
How do I apply for Human Resources Manager jobs at CBRE?
You can browse and apply for Human Resources Manager positions through CBRE's careers portal. For a filtered view of roles confirmed for visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to identify which openings are accessible to international candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect CBRE's real estate and construction context, including any experience with large workforce operations, compliance programs, or multi-site HR management.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly use for Human Resources Manager roles?
CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for most international HR professionals, along with H-1B1 visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying HR classifications. For candidates completing U.S. degrees, CBRE works with F-1 OPT and STEM OPT authorization. For longer-term employment, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories are available for eligible candidates pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does CBRE expect for Human Resources Manager positions?
CBRE typically expects a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, along with several years of progressive HR experience. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree field must align with the role's responsibilities. Familiarity with large workforce environments, experience in construction or commercial real estate, and working knowledge of U.S. employment law and USCIS compliance requirements are valued differentiators.
How does the sponsorship timeline work when starting an HR role at CBRE?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, CBRE can file an H-1B petition before your OPT expires, with Cap Gap protection bridging the gap if needed. For new H-1B filings, USCIS typically requires the petition to be filed ahead of the October 1 start date. CBRE's immigration team works with external counsel to manage filing windows, but confirming sponsorship intent early in the offer process is essential.
