Align your HR credentials to CBRE's portfolio
CBRE operates across commercial real estate, property management, and construction services. Framing your People Operations experience around multi-site workforce management or project-based headcount planning signals direct fit for how HR functions inside the company.
Target CBRE's regional hubs first
CBRE concentrates People Operations hiring in major markets like Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York where its real estate operations are densest. Applying to roles in these locations increases your chances of reaching a hiring team experienced with sponsorship approvals.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
CBRE posts People Operations Manager roles across multiple lines of business, making it hard to identify which openings are sponsorship-eligible. Migrate Mate lets you filter CBRE's active listings by the specific visa types the company sponsors for this function.
Get your LCA timing right before signing
CBRE must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. If you're negotiating an offer, confirm your start date accounts for LCA certification time, which typically runs one to two weeks under standard processing.
Prepare an employment verification paper trail early
CBRE uses E-Verify for all new hires, and People Operations roles involve administering it for others. Having your passport, prior visa stamps, and I-94 records organized before your offer stage prevents delays during onboarding and the I-9 verification process.
Distinguish yourself through HRIS and compliance depth
CBRE's People Operations function heavily involves Workday administration and multi-jurisdiction labor compliance. Candidates who can speak to HRIS implementation experience or state-level employment law across construction and real estate contexts stand out in a competitive applicant pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for People Operations Managers?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for People Operations Manager roles. The company has a consistent pattern of filing H-1B petitions for HR professionals, particularly in its larger regional offices. Your employer handles the petition through USCIS, including the required Labor Condition Application filed with DOL beforehand. Roles tied to specialized HR functions, such as compliance or HRIS management, tend to align most cleanly with H-1B specialty occupation requirements.
How do I apply for People Operations Manager jobs at CBRE?
You can apply through CBRE's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which aggregates CBRE's sponsorship-eligible People Operations Manager openings in one place so you can filter by visa type. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect multi-site HR experience relevant to real estate or construction operations. CBRE's hiring process for People Operations roles typically includes an HR screen, a panel interview with business leaders, and a final conversation with senior HR leadership.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly sponsor for People Operations Manager roles?
CBRE sponsors several visa categories for People Operations Managers, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying HR occupations, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and J-1 visa for exchange visitors. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, CBRE has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM labor certification process for HR professionals in long-term roles.
What qualifications does CBRE expect for People Operations Manager candidates?
CBRE typically looks for a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with several years of progressive HR experience. For People Operations Manager roles specifically, the company values hands-on experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms, multi-jurisdiction employment law knowledge, and a background supporting large or geographically distributed workforces. Experience within construction, real estate, or facilities services is a meaningful differentiator in their applicant pool.
How do I plan my timeline if I need CBRE to sponsor my H-1B?
The standard H-1B cap opens for registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you receive an offer outside that cycle, CBRE may pursue cap-exempt filing options or time your petition for the next cap season. For OPT holders, confirm your authorization end date and factor in the 60-day grace period when negotiating start dates. USCIS premium processing, which CBRE can elect to pay, reduces approval wait times to roughly 15 business days.
