Frame your resume around process outcomes
CBRE's Business Operations teams prioritize candidates who can demonstrate measurable improvements to workflows, vendor management, or reporting systems. Quantify efficiency gains or cost reductions from past roles rather than listing responsibilities, since real estate operations hiring managers scan for impact.
Target CBRE's enterprise service lines strategically
CBRE staffs Business Operations roles across distinct verticals including property management, facilities, and advisory services. Applying to divisions where you have direct industry exposure, such as construction project support or asset management, strengthens your fit narrative during interviews and sponsorship justification internally.
Confirm your visa category before final interviews
CBRE sponsors several nonimmigrant categories, so clarify early whether your situation calls for an H-1B, TN, or OPT extension. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period clock starts immediately after your end date, so align your offer timeline with your authorized work window.
Understand CBRE's LCA filing obligations
For H-1B roles, CBRE must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying that your offered wage meets prevailing wage levels for the specific worksite location. In high-cost markets like New York or San Francisco, this can affect offer structuring, so research DOL wage levels for your target city.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Business Operations roles
CBRE posts Business Operations positions across multiple portals and business units, making it easy to miss relevant openings. Use Migrate Mate to browse visa-sponsorship-confirmed CBRE roles filtered to operations functions, so you're only spending time on positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Prepare for CBRE's internal sponsorship approval process
Large employers like CBRE typically require internal sign-off from HR and legal before a visa petition is filed with USCIS. Ask your recruiter early whether the role has been pre-approved for sponsorship, since business operations headcount decisions can affect petition timelines even after an offer is extended.

Find Business Operations at CBRE JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CBRE sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations roles?
Yes, CBRE sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations positions. CBRE has an established immigration program that works with external counsel to file H-1B petitions for qualifying roles. Because H-1B approval depends on the role meeting USCIS specialty occupation criteria, positions with clear degree requirements in business administration, operations management, or a related field are the strongest candidates for sponsorship.
Which visa types does CBRE commonly use for Business Operations hires?
CBRE sponsors a range of visa categories for Business Operations roles, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying occupations, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways are also available for employees pursuing permanent residence, typically after establishing tenure in a sponsored nonimmigrant status.
What qualifications does CBRE expect for Business Operations candidates?
CBRE typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, finance, or a related field for Business Operations roles. Relevant experience in real estate, facilities management, or professional services is a strong differentiator. For more senior positions, familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, vendor contract management, or cross-functional project coordination within large organizations is commonly expected.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at CBRE?
You can apply through CBRE's careers portal, but roles are spread across multiple business units and geographic regions, which makes it easy to overlook relevant openings. Migrate Mate aggregates CBRE's visa-sponsorship-eligible Business Operations positions in one place, so you can identify and apply to roles where international sponsorship is already part of the hiring process without sifting through hundreds of listings manually.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to CBRE roles at least three to four months before your OPT end date to allow time for offer extension, internal sponsorship approval, and H-1B cap-subject petition filing. H-1B cap petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so a summer OPT expiration with no cap-gap coverage could create an authorization gap. Confirm the role's sponsorship timeline with your CBRE recruiter early in the process.
