Align Your Credentials to KPMG's Service Lines
KPMG recruits Senior Consultants into distinct practice areas: Audit, Tax, and Advisory. Before applying, map your degree and professional certifications like CPA or CA to the specific service line you're targeting. A misaligned application rarely advances to sponsorship conversations.
Target KPMG's Campus and Experienced Hire Pipelines Separately
KPMG fills Senior Consultant roles through both campus recruiting cycles and experienced hire postings. If you're transitioning from another firm or finishing a graduate program, identify which pipeline fits your background before submitting. The sponsorship conversation happens differently in each track.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter KPMG Senior Consultant Openings by Visa Type
KPMG posts Senior Consultant openings across dozens of offices, but not every location or practice sponsors equally. Use Migrate Mate to filter active KPMG listings by the visa type you need, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Clarify Sponsorship Eligibility Before Your Final Interview Round
KPMG's HR and recruiting teams handle sponsorship decisions centrally, not at the partner level. Raise your visa status directly with the recruiter after your first-round interview, not during offer negotiation. Waiting until the offer stage can delay USCIS filing timelines by weeks.
Understand How KPMG's LCA Filing Affects Your Start Date
Before KPMG can file your H-1B or E-3 petition, it must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming the offered wage meets prevailing rates. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, and it must be complete before USCIS can receive your petition.
Prepare Your Specialty Occupation Documentation Early
For Senior Consultant roles, USCIS scrutinizes whether the position genuinely requires a specialized degree. Gather official job descriptions, engagement documentation, and your academic transcripts before your offer is extended. Firms like KPMG operate under RFE risk when job duties appear generalized.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Consultants?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Consultant roles across its Audit, Tax, and Advisory practice lines. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, KPMG typically initiates the filing process well ahead of the April 1 filing window. If you miss a lottery cycle, KPMG may also explore cap-exempt options depending on your situation and work location.
How do I apply for Senior Consultant jobs at KPMG?
Applications for Senior Consultant roles at KPMG go through its careers portal, where openings are listed by service line and office location. Experienced hires apply directly to posted roles, while recent graduates often enter through structured campus recruiting programs. Migrate Mate lets you browse KPMG's active Senior Consultant listings filtered by the visa sponsorship type you need, which simplifies targeting the right openings.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Senior Consultant roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international Senior Consultants and E-3 visas for Australian nationals, given the E-3's simpler filing process and no lottery requirement. For candidates on a path toward permanent residence, KPMG has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Senior Consultants who have demonstrated sustained performance within the firm.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for a Senior Consultant position?
KPMG's Senior Consultant roles typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related technical field, with two to four years of relevant professional experience. CPA candidacy or licensure is commonly expected for Audit and Tax tracks. Advisory roles may require additional certifications or demonstrated experience in a specific industry vertical like financial services or technology.
How do I plan my timeline around KPMG's visa sponsorship process?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, work backward from October 1, when new H-1B status takes effect. KPMG must file during the April 1 window, meaning your offer and all pre-filing steps need to be complete by March. E-3 applicants face a shorter timeline since there's no lottery, but KPMG still needs to complete DOL's Labor Condition Application before your consular interview can proceed.
