Align Your Certifications to KPMG's Client Sectors
KPMG's cybersecurity practice serves heavily regulated industries, so certifications like CISSP, CISA, or SOC 2 audit experience carry real weight. Tailor your resume to reflect frameworks relevant to financial services and government clients before you apply.
Target Advisory Roles Not Just Internal IT
KPMG's Cybersecurity Engineer openings are predominantly in client-facing advisory lines, not internal infrastructure. Positioning yourself as a consultant who delivers security assessments and remediation plans will put you in front of the hiring managers who approve sponsorship.
Understand KPMG's PERM Timeline for Green Card Planning
For immigrant visa pathways like EB-2 or EB-3, KPMG typically initiates PERM labor certification after you've established yourself in the role. DOL's PERM process can take 12 to 18 months, so ask about the firm's standard timeline during negotiations.
Search Active Openings Through Migrate Mate
KPMG posts Cybersecurity Engineer roles across multiple offices and practice areas. Use Migrate Mate to filter live openings specifically flagged for visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions where the process is already confirmed.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Case for Your Role
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For KPMG advisory roles, that means documenting client deliverables, required degree fields, and technical scope. Work with the immigration counsel KPMG assigns to get this framing right before the petition is filed.

Find Cybersecurity Engineer at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity Engineers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Cybersecurity Engineer roles, particularly within its advisory and risk services practices. Sponsorship is typically confirmed during the offer stage, and KPMG works with in-house or retained immigration counsel to handle the filing. Because H-1B is subject to the annual lottery, timing your application cycle and having a backup plan matters.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Cybersecurity Engineer roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for Cybersecurity Engineers at the nonimmigrant level, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. Australian citizens are well-positioned to pursue the E-3 route, which bypasses the H-1B lottery and can move faster through consular processing.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Cybersecurity Engineer roles?
Most Cybersecurity Engineer positions at KPMG require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a closely related field. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ strengthen your profile. Because many roles sit within the advisory practice, demonstrable experience with compliance frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 is often expected alongside technical skills.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity Engineer jobs at KPMG?
You can find and apply for Cybersecurity Engineer roles at KPMG through Migrate Mate, which filters openings specifically for candidates who need visa sponsorship. KPMG's advisory practice hires across multiple U.S. offices, so filtering by location and practice area helps you identify the right opening. Apply directly through the job listing and flag your visa requirements early in the recruiter screening call.
How do I plan my timeline if KPMG sponsors my H-1B?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer and KPMG agrees to sponsor, the registration window is a hard deadline. Premium processing reduces the adjudication wait to around 15 business days after filing. Factor in that your start date may need to align with cap timing unless the role qualifies for a cap-exempt filing through a specific project arrangement.
