Align your credentials to U.S. standards
KPMG's bookkeeping roles often require familiarity with U.S. GAAP. If your accounting education is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before applying so hiring managers don't question equivalency.
Target KPMG's Advisory and Tax service lines
Bookkeeper openings at KPMG are more likely to appear within client-facing service lines like Tax and Advisory than in corporate functions. Filter your search by business unit to find roles where international hiring is more established.
Use Migrate Mate to filter KPMG bookkeeper roles by visa type
Not every open bookkeeper role at KPMG will come with sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for H-1B or E-3 eligible positions, so you're only spending time on opportunities where your visa situation is already accounted for.
Confirm LCA wage level before accepting an offer
For H-1B and E-3 roles, KPMG must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your salary meets prevailing wage. Ask HR which wage level your offer is benchmarked against, since bookkeeper roles can fall anywhere from Level I to Level III.
Prepare a Green Card timeline question for your offer stage
KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for accounting professionals, but PERM labor certification timelines vary by role and location. Asking directly about the firm's standard timeline for bookkeeper-level positions shows preparation and surfaces critical planning information early.

Find Bookkeeper at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for bookkeeper roles. KPMG participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each spring, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're on OPT, you'll need to time your offer and filing carefully to avoid a gap in work authorization between your OPT expiration and H-1B activation.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. Before applying, confirm the listing is open to sponsored candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces KPMG bookkeeper roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves time if you need H-1B or E-3 support and don't want to chase roles that won't sponsor.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international bookkeeper hires. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable periods, making it a faster and more predictable path. For long-term sponsorship, KPMG also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for sponsored Bookkeeper roles?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Proficiency with enterprise accounting platforms and a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP are standard expectations. For H-1B eligibility specifically, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the degree requirement must be a genuine prerequisite, not just preferred.
How long does KPMG's visa sponsorship process take for Bookkeepers?
For H-1B petitions, USCIS standard processing runs three to six months from filing in April, with an October 1 start. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, though KPMG's decision to use it varies by case. The E-3 consular process in Australia is typically faster, often resolved within a few weeks of receiving your offer documents.
