Align your credentials with U.S. standards
Deloitte's Bookkeeper roles typically require proficiency in U.S. GAAP and familiarity with platforms like QuickBooks or SAP. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a formal credential evaluation before applying so hiring managers can assess your qualifications without ambiguity.
Target Deloitte's internal finance service lines
Bookkeeper openings at Deloitte often sit within internal finance, client accounting services, or shared services centers rather than client-facing consulting teams. Filtering your search to those business units puts you in front of the roles most likely to carry sponsorship support.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsored Bookkeeper openings
Not every Bookkeeper listing at Deloitte explicitly states visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles at Deloitte that have a verified sponsorship history, so you're applying to positions where the process is already in motion.
Understand which visa fits your nationality
Deloitte sponsors multiple visa categories for Bookkeepers. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and faster processing. Singaporean and Chilean nationals may qualify for the H-1B1. Everyone else typically enters the H-1B lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date.
Confirm the offer letter addresses sponsorship explicitly
Before signing, verify that your Deloitte offer letter or a separate written commitment specifies that the firm will file and fund your visa petition. Deloitte's global mobility team manages this, but you want sponsorship confirmed in writing before you give notice to any current employer.
Account for PERM timing if you want a Green Card
If your goal is permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, Deloitte's immigration team will need to initiate PERM labor certification with the DOL. That process can take one to two years before an I-140 petition is even filed, so raise this with your recruiter early in the offer stage.

Find Bookkeeper at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery, timing your application to align with Deloitte's recruiting cycle, typically for an October 1 start, is essential to being included in a cap-year filing.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where you can filter by job function and location. Bookkeeper roles are most commonly listed under finance and accounting or internal operations. Migrate Mate is a practical starting point if you want to identify Deloitte Bookkeeper openings that have a demonstrated visa sponsorship track record before you invest time in the full application.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Bookkeeper positions depending on your nationality. Australian citizens are well-positioned for the E-3, which carries no annual cap and can be processed directly at a U.S. consulate. For longer-term immigration, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process for qualifying employees.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for sponsored Bookkeeper roles?
Deloitte generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, since visa eligibility for roles like this depends on meeting the specialty occupation standard under USCIS rules. Practical experience with U.S. GAAP, accounts payable and receivable cycles, and enterprise accounting software strengthens your application. Roles tied to client engagements may also require familiarity with consulting-specific billing and cost-tracking processes.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Bookkeeper at Deloitte?
For H-1B sponsorship, count on a minimum of six to nine months from offer acceptance to your authorized start date, given the lottery in March and the October 1 cap-year start. E-3 and H-1B1 applicants can move faster, often completing consular processing within four to eight weeks of receiving a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. PERM-based Green Card timelines run separately and typically extend beyond two years.
