Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Deloitte's consulting managers are expected to hold a degree directly tied to the engagement type, such as finance, economics, or engineering. A generic business degree alone can complicate H-1B specialty occupation approval, so document how your academic background maps to your specific practice area.
Target Deloitte's industry-aligned consulting practices
Deloitte organizes consulting around practices like Strategy and Analytics, Financial Advisory, and Technology. Applying within a clearly defined practice strengthens your specialty occupation case and signals to recruiters that your background fits a specific client-facing function rather than a generalist role.
Find open Manager roles using Migrate Mate
Manager - Consulting openings at Deloitte span multiple practice areas and geographies, and postings open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsorship-eligible roles so you're applying to positions where your visa type is already accounted for.
Understand how Deloitte handles LCA prevailing wage determinations
DOL requires Deloitte to file a Labor Condition Application certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for your role and location. Manager-level roles in high-cost markets like New York or San Francisco carry higher wage floors, so factor this into offer negotiations early.
Time your application around Deloitte's recruiting cycles
Deloitte's consulting hiring peaks in late summer and early fall for experienced hires. If you need H-1B cap sponsorship, securing an offer by February or March gives Deloitte's immigration team time to register you before the April 1 USCIS filing window.
Prepare for internal clearance requirements before your petition files
Deloitte requires background checks and security clearance screenings for certain federal consulting engagements before an I-129 petition can proceed. Confirm upfront whether your target practice area involves government clients, since delays in clearance can push back your start date significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Manager - Consultings?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Manager - Consulting roles and has done so consistently across its practice areas. Sponsorship is handled through Deloitte's in-house immigration team, which coordinates LCA filings with DOL and I-129 petitions with USCIS. Cap-subject candidates need an offer in place before the April registration window to be included in that year's H-1B lottery.
How do I apply for Manager - Consulting jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and service line. Most Manager - Consulting positions require prior consulting experience, often from a recognized firm, and interviews typically include case-based assessments. Migrate Mate is a practical way to browse open Manager - Consulting roles at Deloitte that are open to visa sponsorship, so you can focus your effort on positions where your immigration status is already expected.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Manager - Consulting roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for consulting managers, along with employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. H-1B is the most common route for non-Australian, non-Chilean, and non-Singaporean nationals. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is generally faster to obtain. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals under their respective trade agreements.
What qualifications and experience does Deloitte expect for Manager - Consulting roles?
Deloitte typically looks for five to eight years of professional experience, with at least two to three years in a consulting or advisory capacity. A relevant bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is common at this level, particularly in Strategy or Financial Advisory practices. Strong client-facing experience and a track record of managing workstreams or junior team members are standard expectations across all consulting practices.
How do I know if my visa type is eligible for sponsorship at Deloitte?
Deloitte's immigration team evaluates sponsorship eligibility during the offer stage, not before. If you're on OPT, a cap-gap extension through USCIS can bridge the gap between your OPT expiry and an approved H-1B. For E-3 applicants, Deloitte needs to file a certified LCA with DOL before you can apply at a consulate. Confirming your visa type early in the recruiting process helps Deloitte's team plan the filing timeline around your start date.
