Align your credentials to KPMG's specialty occupation standard
KPMG structures consulting manager roles around specific service lines, advisory, deals, tax, or audit transformation. Make sure your degree and work history map directly to one service line. A generalist background raises specialty occupation questions during H-1B adjudication.
Target KPMG's sector-specific consulting practices
KPMG hires consulting managers through discrete practice groups, not a single consulting pool. Applying directly to financial services, government, or healthcare consulting postings improves your fit signal and connects you with teams that have established sponsorship workflows for that vertical.
Understand how E-3 eligibility changes your timeline
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 path skips the H-1B lottery entirely and can be processed consularly in weeks rather than months. Raise your E-3 eligibility early in conversations with KPMG's recruiting team so the right petition type gets filed from the start.
Clarify the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
KPMG does sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification typically begins after you've demonstrated performance at the manager level. Ask your recruiter at the offer stage which service line practice has the most active PERM pipeline for your function.
Use Migrate Mate to filter consulting manager openings by sponsorship type
Not every KPMG posting signals the same visa pathway. Search and filter by H-1B or E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate to surface consulting manager roles where KPMG has an active sponsorship record, so you're prioritizing applications with the clearest path forward.
Submit your H-1B registration before the March USCIS lottery window
KPMG's HR and immigration teams coordinate H-1B cap registrations in February and early March. Confirm your offer is contingent on lottery selection and that your employer of record is identified before the USCIS registration window opens, since late submissions are not accepted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Manager - Consultings?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Manager - Consulting roles across its service lines. KPMG participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery and also files H-1B transfers for candidates already holding valid H-1B status with another employer. Because consulting manager positions typically require a specific degree and are tied to a defined practice area, they generally satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements without significant difficulty.
How do I apply for Manager - Consulting jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where roles are organized by service line and geography. Filtering by your target practice area, such as advisory or deals, narrows the field considerably. You can also browse Manager - Consulting openings at KPMG filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where KPMG has a documented sponsorship track record for that specific function.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Manager - Consulting roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most nationalities and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. For long-term permanent residency, KPMG supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, typically initiated after a candidate has been in the role for a period of time. The right visa type depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific office where the role is based.
What qualifications and experience does KPMG expect for a Manager - Consulting role?
KPMG's consulting manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the service line, such as business, finance, engineering, or information systems, along with several years of experience in client-facing consulting or advisory work. Many candidates also hold an MBA or a professional certification like CPA or PMP. Prior Big Four or management consulting experience is a strong differentiator for competitive practices like deals or financial services advisory.
What is the typical timeline from offer to starting work on a sponsored visa at KPMG?
For H-1B cap cases, the timeline is driven by the USCIS lottery, which runs in March with an October 1 start date. Premium processing can shorten the USCIS adjudication phase to around 15 business days once the petition is filed. E-3 applicants can often complete consular processing in four to six weeks after receiving a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, making it a faster path for Australian nationals already outside the U.S.
