Earn CPA Credentials Before Applying
KPMG's corporate accounting roles almost universally require CPA licensure or active CPA candidacy. Having all four sections passed signals you're on track and removes a common hesitation point for recruiters evaluating sponsored candidates alongside domestic applicants.
Target KPMG's Advisory and Audit Support Pipelines
KPMG hires Corporate Accountants through both its audit-adjacent teams and its advisory practice. Roles tied to financial statement preparation and technical accounting research tend to have more defined degree requirements, which strengthens your specialty occupation case for H-1B or E-3 purposes.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Openings
Not every KPMG posting lists visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate filters open Corporate Accountant roles at KPMG by verified sponsorship history, so you're only spending time on positions where international candidates have a realistic path to an offer.
Prepare Your Degree Equivalency Documentation Early
If your accounting degree is from outside the United States, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before interviews begin. KPMG's immigration team will need this to support your LCA filing with DOL and confirm the degree meets specialty occupation standards.
Understand KPMG's Filing Timeline Around H-1B Cap Dates
For cap-subject H-1B cases, USCIS registration opens in March with an October 1 start date. If you're in your final OPT year, align your KPMG offer timeline so your employer can register you in the lottery while your F-1 status remains valid.
Ask Directly About Green Card Sponsorship During Offer Negotiation
KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for accounting staff, but PERM labor certification timelines vary by role level and backlog. Clarify at the offer stage whether your position qualifies and how long the firm typically takes to initiate the PERM process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Corporate Accountants?
Yes. KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Corporate Accountant roles where the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a directly related field, meeting USCIS specialty occupation standards. Cap-subject candidates need to go through the annual H-1B lottery, with registration in March and an October 1 employment start date. Cap-exempt filings, such as transfers from other H-1B visa holders, can be submitted at any time.
How do I apply for Corporate Accountant jobs at KPMG?
You can apply through KPMG's careers portal directly or browse open roles that include verified sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight technical accounting skills relevant to the specific team, whether that's financial reporting, audit support, or regulatory compliance, and confirm your visa status clearly in the application if prompted.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Corporate Accountant roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for the broadest pool of international candidates. Australian citizens are commonly placed on E-3 visas, which have no lottery and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments. For longer-term sponsorship, KPMG supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification, though timelines depend on your country of birth and current USCIS and DOL processing backlogs.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for sponsored Corporate Accountant positions?
Most Corporate Accountant roles at KPMG require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Active CPA candidacy or a completed CPA license strengthens your application significantly, particularly for positions involving financial statement preparation or technical accounting research. Relevant internship experience in public accounting or a Big Four environment is common among competitive candidates, and U.S.-equivalent degree documentation is required for foreign credentials.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Corporate Accountant role at KPMG?
For H-1B cap cases, the process runs roughly six to eight months from lottery registration in March to the October 1 employment start date. Premium processing through USCIS reduces adjudication to 15 business days once the petition is filed. E-3 consular processing for Australian citizens at a U.S. consulate in Australia typically takes two to four weeks from appointment to visa issuance. PERM labor certification for Green Card sponsorship runs 12 to 18 months or longer depending on DOL workload.
