Frame your credentials around client-facing revenue impact
KPMG evaluates Business Development candidates on pipeline growth and client relationship history. Quantify revenue generated, deals closed, or accounts expanded in your resume before you apply. Generic sales experience won't differentiate you in a professional services environment.
Target KPMG's industry-aligned BD teams directly
KPMG structures Business Development by sector, including financial services, healthcare, and technology. Apply to roles within the vertical matching your background. Sector-specific BD roles have clearer specialty occupation arguments, which strengthens your H-1B petition if the position requires field-specific expertise.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active KPMG BD openings
KPMG's Business Development roles don't always stay open long. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track current openings at KPMG that align with your visa type, so you're applying to live roles rather than listings that have already closed.
Ask about LCA certification timing before accepting an offer
Before you sign, confirm that KPMG's immigration team has started the Labor Condition Application with DOL. LCA certification is required before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, and delays at this stage can affect your start date significantly.
Position your degree field as analytically relevant to the role
H-1B specialty occupation requires a direct relationship between your degree and the role. For BD roles at an accounting firm, degrees in business, finance, economics, or marketing typically satisfy this requirement. Be ready to articulate that connection clearly in your petition supporting letter.
Clarify E-3 portability if you're an Australian citizen mid-process
If you're already in the U.S. on an E-3 and switch to a KPMG BD role, your employer needs to file a new LCA specific to that position and location. Don't assume your existing E-3 carries over. Confirm the new LCA is filed and certified before your start date.

Find Business Development Professional at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, finance, or marketing. KPMG's internal immigration team manages the H-1B petition process, including the required Labor Condition Application filed with DOL, so the administrative burden sits with the firm rather than with you.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Business Development Professional roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most internationally-hired Business Development Professionals, and E-3 visas for Australian citizens in equivalent roles. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, KPMG also supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, which typically involve PERM labor certification filed through DOL before the immigrant petition is submitted to USCIS.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Business Development Professional roles?
KPMG typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, along with demonstrable experience in client acquisition or account management within a professional services or B2B environment. Familiarity with the accounting, audit, or advisory space is an advantage. Roles at senior levels may require experience managing complex sales cycles or working with C-suite stakeholders across specific industry verticals.
How do I apply for Business Development Professional jobs at KPMG?
Start by identifying open Business Development roles at KPMG that match your experience level and sector focus. You can browse current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When you apply, tailor your application to KPMG's sector-specific BD structure and be explicit about your visa status and work authorization needs. KPMG's recruiting process for these roles typically includes multiple rounds of interviews with business and BD leadership.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take once KPMG extends an offer?
For H-1B sponsorship, KPMG must first file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which generally takes seven business days for standard processing. The I-129 petition then goes to USCIS. Standard USCIS processing runs four to six months, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing is tied to the annual lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start date.
