Align your credentials to KPMG's service lines
KPMG's cybersecurity practice spans risk advisory, forensic technology, and regulatory compliance. Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA signal fluency in the audit-adjacent work KPMG actually does, making your profile a stronger match before you apply.
Target roles that map to specialty occupation criteria
H-1B eligibility requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. KPMG's cybersecurity advisory positions typically require a degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, so confirm your job title and degree field align before the offer stage.
Search KPMG openings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter for KPMG cybersecurity roles that include visa sponsorship. This saves time by surfacing positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than cold-applying and asking later.
Raise sponsorship needs before the offer letter
KPMG's talent acquisition teams are experienced with visa sponsorship, but they need lead time to involve their immigration counsel. Disclosing your visa status during the final interview round avoids last-minute complications that can delay or withdraw offers.
Understand the Labor Condition Application timeline
Your employer must file an LCA with DOL before KPMG can submit your H-1B petition to USCIS. At large firms, this step moves through internal compliance review, so expect the process to take several weeks after your offer is signed.
Position client-facing security experience strategically
KPMG hires cybersecurity professionals primarily to serve external clients, not manage internal IT. Emphasizing prior consulting, audit support, or client engagement work in your application frames your background in terms that match how KPMG structures these roles.

Find Cybersecurity at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity roles?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for cybersecurity professionals. The firm's immigration program is well-established, and its advisory and risk practices regularly include international hires. Cybersecurity roles at KPMG typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, meaning they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, information security, or information systems.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Cybersecurity hires?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most cybersecurity hires requiring employer-based work authorization. Australian citizens are often sponsored on the E-3 visa, which operates outside the H-1B lottery and allows for a more predictable timeline. For longer-term employees, KPMG supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 or EB-3 classifications, typically after a period of employment and performance review.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where roles are listed by service line and location. You can also browse KPMG cybersecurity openings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring employers and lets you identify roles where sponsorship is confirmed. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect KPMG's client advisory focus rather than internal IT or government security work.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Cybersecurity roles?
KPMG generally expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a closely related field. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CompTIA Security+ strengthen applications significantly, particularly for advisory and compliance-oriented roles. Prior experience in risk assessments, penetration testing, incident response, or regulatory frameworks like NIST or SOC 2 is commonly referenced in KPMG job postings.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a KPMG role?
The H-1B cap-subject lottery registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. If your registration is selected, KPMG's immigration counsel will file the full petition after USCIS issues a selection notice. Factor in time for KPMG to complete its internal LCA filing with DOL before the petition is submitted. Starting the job search and interview process no later than January or February gives you the best chance of aligning an offer with the annual filing window.
