Align your certifications to KPMG's client work
KPMG's cloud security work spans regulated industries like financial services and government. Certifications such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer Associate signal direct fit with the compliance-driven environments their clients operate in.
Target KPMG's advisory and cyber practices
Cloud Security Engineer roles sit across KPMG's Cyber Security Services and Cloud Transformation practices. Applying through advisory-side postings often means working on client engagements, which KPMG tends to staff with sponsored employees at higher rates than internal IT roles.
Understand how E-3 sponsorship works at large firms
If you're an Australian citizen, KPMG sponsors E-3 visas for this role type. E-3 filings require a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before your interview, and KPMG's immigration team typically coordinates this after an offer is extended.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
KPMG sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Cloud Security Engineers, but PERM labor certification through the DOL can take 18 to 24 months before an I-140 petition is filed. Clarify whether the specific team you're joining initiates PERM after one year or earlier.
Search current KPMG openings on Migrate Mate
Filtering for Cloud Security Engineer roles at KPMG by visa type lets you see which positions are actively posted for sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to surface relevant openings and identify which KPMG practice areas are currently hiring for this function.
Prepare for a technical interview structured around cloud compliance
KPMG's Cloud Security Engineer interviews frequently assess knowledge of NIST, SOC 2, and cloud-native security tooling across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Expect scenario-based questions tied to audit and risk contexts rather than purely infrastructure or DevSecOps scenarios.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Cloud Security Engineers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Cloud Security Engineers. The firm has a dedicated immigration team that manages H-1B filings, including the annual lottery in April. Because H-1B cap registration occurs in March, you'll want to secure an offer well before that window. KPMG also files for H-1B extensions and transfers for existing visa holders.
How do I apply for Cloud Security Engineer jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. Searching under Cyber Security Services or Cloud Transformation surfaces the most relevant Cloud Security Engineer postings. You can also browse current sponsored openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where KPMG is actively hiring visa-sponsored candidates in this function.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Cloud Security Engineers?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international candidates in this role. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable status. For longer-term immigration, KPMG also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, making it one of the broader sponsorship programs available at a professional services firm.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Cloud Security Engineer roles?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, alongside hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Industry certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or platform-specific security specialties strengthen your application. Familiarity with compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST is frequently cited in job descriptions for client-facing roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after a KPMG offer?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 visa applicants can move quickly once the DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application, often within weeks. H-1B sponsorship is tied to the April lottery, so start date may be October 1 at the earliest. For Green Card sponsorship, PERM labor certification through the DOL typically takes 18 to 24 months before the I-140 petition stage begins.
