Align your credentials to KPMG's compliance focus
KPMG's Security Engineer roles frequently sit within risk advisory and regulatory compliance engagements. Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA signal direct relevance to the firm's client-facing audit and advisory work, strengthening both your application and your sponsorship case.
Target roles tied to client service lines
KPMG staffs Security Engineers across industry verticals, not just internal IT. Roles attached to financial services or healthcare advisory tend to have clearer sponsorship pathways because they sit within established practice groups with dedicated HR and immigration support processes.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
KPMG sponsors H-1B, E-3, and Green Card pathways, but each follows a different timeline. Ask your recruiter early which category applies to your situation so the firm's immigration counsel can confirm eligibility before an offer is extended and signed.
Prepare for KPMG's security clearance requirements
Some Security Engineer roles require background checks that interact with your immigration status. Having your I-94, prior visa documents, and employment authorization records organized in advance prevents delays during onboarding and the H-1B or E-3 filing process.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Security Engineer roles
KPMG posts Security Engineer openings across multiple offices and service lines simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for KPMG roles that offer visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the firm is already prepared to file on your behalf.
Account for PERM timing if targeting a Green Card
If KPMG sponsors your EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition. Factor this into your timeline if you're transitioning off OPT or a fixed-term visa.

Find Security Engineer at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Security Engineers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Security Engineers. The firm works with dedicated immigration counsel to manage H-1B filings, including cap-subject petitions submitted in the annual lottery each March. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, KPMG can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Security Engineer jobs at KPMG?
You can apply directly through KPMG's careers portal or find open Security Engineer roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific practice area, whether that's cyber risk advisory, threat detection, or compliance technology, since KPMG's Security Engineer openings span distinct service lines with different hiring managers and requirements.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly sponsor for Security Engineers?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international candidates, E-3 visas for Australian citizens, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for longer-term hires. Australian candidates holding a qualifying bachelor's degree and a job offer in a specialty occupation can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Security Engineer roles?
KPMG typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ strengthen your profile, particularly for roles supporting financial services or regulated industry clients where compliance knowledge is weighted heavily.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at KPMG?
For H-1B cap-subject cases, KPMG files in April for an October 1 start date, meaning the process takes roughly six months from lottery selection to work authorization. E-3 processing through a U.S. consulate abroad typically takes two to four weeks after the employer completes the Labor Condition Application with DOL. KPMG's internal immigration team generally initiates filings once an offer is signed.
