Position your credentials around client-facing impact
KPMG's Business Development teams are evaluated on pipeline growth and client retention, not just sales activity. Frame your resume around revenue metrics, deal cycles, and cross-functional collaboration with service line partners to match how KPMG defines success in this function.
Target KPMG's industry-aligned business development tracks
KPMG structures Business Development hiring around specific sectors like financial services, healthcare, and technology. Research which regional office is expanding in your target industry and apply to roles tied to that vertical rather than submitting to generic openings.
Understand how KPMG sequences the LCA before your offer letter
For H-1B and E-3 sponsorships, your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Confirm with your KPMG recruiter that this step is accounted for in the offer timeline so your start date isn't pushed back unexpectedly.
Clarify E-3 eligibility early in the process
If you hold Australian citizenship, the E-3 visa lets KPMG sponsor you outside the H-1B lottery cycle. Raise your nationality with the recruiter before the offer stage so legal counsel can route your petition correctly from the start rather than defaulting to H-1B.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Business Development openings by sponsorship type
Many KPMG Business Development listings don't specify visa support in the job post itself. Use Migrate Mate to surface verified roles at KPMG filtered by H-1B or E-3 sponsorship history, so you're targeting positions the firm has actively sponsored before.
Prepare for KPMG's Green Card pathway conversation at the offer stage
For long-term roles, KPMG may initiate EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship after a period of employment. Ask directly during offer negotiation whether the position is eligible for permanent residence sponsorship and what the firm's typical timeline to initiating PERM looks like.

Find Business Development at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions where the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Business Development roles tied to specific industry verticals or service lines, such as financial services or healthcare consulting, tend to have the clearest path to H-1B eligibility. Confirm specialty occupation qualification with KPMG's immigration counsel before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed by service line and region. Tailor your application to highlight sector-specific client relationships and pipeline experience relevant to the vertical KPMG is hiring for. If you need visa sponsorship, note that in your cover materials and confirm the firm's willingness to sponsor early in the recruiter screening call. Migrate Mate can help you identify current openings filtered by sponsorship track record.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Business Development positions?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international hires in Business Development, along with E-3 visas for Australian citizens, which bypass the H-1B lottery entirely. For candidates on long-term career tracks, the firm has also initiated EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. The applicable visa type depends on your nationality, the specific role's specialty occupation classification, and where you are in your immigration journey.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Business Development roles requiring sponsorship?
KPMG generally expects a bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field, though advanced degrees are common in roles tied to complex service lines like advisory or deal structuring. Practical experience in professional services or B2B client development carries significant weight. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the role's duties to satisfy specialty occupation requirements under USCIS guidelines, so generalist backgrounds can face additional scrutiny during petition review.
How do I plan my timeline if KPMG is sponsoring my H-1B for a Business Development role?
Standard H-1B petitions can only start on October 1, the beginning of the federal fiscal year, and USCIS must receive petitions by April 1. The H-1B lottery registration opens in early March. If you're selected, KPMG's legal team files your petition after the lottery, with USCIS processing running three to six months for regular filings. Build your offer negotiation and start date around this calendar, and discuss premium processing with your recruiter if the role has an earlier business need.
