Earn a Credential That Signals CPA Progress
KPMG's tax practice prioritizes candidates actively pursuing or who have passed the CPA exam. Documenting your exam sections passed and your eligibility under your state board strengthens your case before you ever reach a recruiter.
Target KPMG Offices With Active Tax Practices
KPMG's largest tax teams sit in New York, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco. Applying to offices where the specific tax specialty you work in, such as international tax or state and local tax, is actively staffed gives you a stronger fit signal.
Align Your Resume to KPMG's Tax Service Lines
KPMG structures its tax practice into distinct service lines: federal, international, and multistate. Tailoring your resume to match the specific service line you're applying for, using their published terminology, improves your chances of clearing automated screening.
Understand KPMG's LCA Filing Before Your Start Date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS receives your H-1B petition. The certified LCA sets your work location and wage level, so any office transfer after filing requires an amended petition. Confirm your intended office before the LCA is submitted.

Find Tax Senior Associate at KPMG JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Senior Associates?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Senior Associates. The firm has a dedicated immigration team that manages petitions from the Labor Condition Application stage through USCIS filing. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, KPMG typically coordinates offers and filings on a timeline that accounts for the April 1 filing window and an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Tax Senior Associate jobs at KPMG?
Applications go through KPMG's careers portal, where Tax Senior Associate roles are listed by service line and office location. Roles in federal tax, international tax, and state and local tax each recruit somewhat separately. You can also find KPMG Tax Senior Associate openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't available.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Tax Senior Associates?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for most international Tax Senior Associates and uses the E-3 visa for Australian citizens, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. For candidates on a path to permanent residence, KPMG has filed PERM labor certifications leading to EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions, typically after a candidate has been with the firm for a period of time.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for a Tax Senior Associate role?
KPMG typically expects a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or a closely related field for Tax Senior Associate hires. Active CPA licensure or demonstrated progress toward it is a practical requirement in most service lines. Prior experience in public accounting tax work, familiarity with U.S. federal or state tax compliance, and proficiency with tax software platforms are standard expectations at this level.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a KPMG Tax role?
USCIS opens H-1B registrations each March for a lottery drawn shortly after. If selected, petitions are filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. KPMG's recruiting cycle for Tax Senior Associates often aligns with this, meaning offers to international candidates are typically extended in the preceding months. If you're on OPT, confirm your OPT end date against this timeline early in the process.
