Align your CPA progress with sponsorship timing
CohnReznick expects Tax Senior Associates to be actively pursuing CPA licensure. Having your exam sections underway or completed before you apply signals readiness and reduces any employer hesitation around sponsoring a candidate who may need extended onboarding.
Target CohnReznick's industry-specialized tax practices
CohnReznick structures its tax teams around industries like real estate, government contracting, and private equity. Applying through a specific practice group rather than generically increases your visibility with hiring managers who already understand international talent needs in that vertical.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Tax Senior Associate roles
CohnReznick posts Tax Senior Associate openings across multiple offices at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for CohnReznick roles that support visa sponsorship so you're not manually cross-referencing job boards with sponsorship history.
Clarify your visa type early in recruiter conversations
CohnReznick sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Naming your specific status upfront helps their HR team route your file correctly and avoids miscommunication later about what filing process or timeline applies to you.
File your H-1B registration before accepting a start date
If you need H-1B sponsorship, your start date depends on the April lottery and an October 1 cap-subject start. Confirm with CohnReznick's immigration team whether a cap-exempt entity or change-of-status bridge applies before committing to a timeline.
Prepare a clean international transcript credential evaluation
CohnReznick and state CPA boards both assess foreign degrees. Get a NACES-approved credential evaluation completed before your offer stage so neither your employer nor the licensing board faces delays verifying that your accounting degree meets U.S. equivalency standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Senior Associates?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Senior Associates. The firm has a consistent pattern of supporting international hires at this level across its tax practices. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your start date will typically align with October 1 following a successful lottery registration in April. CohnReznick's HR and immigration teams handle the USCIS petition process directly.
How do I apply for Tax Senior Associate jobs at CohnReznick?
You can apply through CohnReznick's careers portal or find open Tax Senior Associate roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific practice group, whether that's real estate, financial services, or another industry vertical, since CohnReznick's tax teams are structured by sector and hiring managers look for relevant client experience.
Which visa types does CohnReznick commonly sponsor for Tax Senior Associates?
CohnReznick sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Tax Senior Associate roles. Australian nationals often pursue the E-3 visa pathway, which has no lottery and allows faster processing. Canadian and Mexican candidates frequently use the TN visa. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for candidates already studying in the U.S.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for Tax Senior Associate candidates?
CohnReznick typically expects two to four years of public accounting experience in a tax-focused role, a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related field, and active progress toward CPA licensure. Familiarity with federal and state tax compliance, partnership or corporate returns, and industry-specific tax issues relevant to CohnReznick's practice areas strengthens a candidacy significantly.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at CohnReznick?
The timeline depends on your visa category. F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of work authorization after graduation, with a 24-month STEM extension available for qualifying accounting graduates. H-1B sponsorship requires a lottery registration in March and a cap-subject start no earlier than October 1. E-3 and TN visa processing is faster and not lottery-dependent. Aligning your job search with these windows prevents gaps in authorization.
