Align your credentials to U.S. accounting standards
Bloomberg's finance team works within U.S. GAAP frameworks. If your bookkeeping experience is grounded in IFRS or a non-U.S. system, document your exposure to U.S. standards explicitly on your resume before applying.
Target Bloomberg's finance operations postings directly
Bloomberg often posts Bookkeeper roles under finance operations or corporate accounting rather than a standalone bookkeeping title. Searching those categories on Bloomberg's careers portal surfaces relevant openings that a title-only search misses.
Prepare for Bloomberg's structured interview format
Bloomberg's finance interviews typically involve competency-based questions tied to systems proficiency and process accuracy. Come ready to walk through specific reconciliations or month-end close work you've owned, not just general duties.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Bloomberg's open bookkeeper roles
Filtering visa-sponsoring employers by role type speeds up a focused search. Migrate Mate lets you browse active Bookkeeper openings at Bloomberg alongside sponsorship history, so you spend less time cold-researching and more time applying.

Find Bookkeeper at Bloomberg JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles. Bookkeeping qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a related field. Your offer letter and educational credentials both need to support that standard, and Bloomberg's legal team files the petition through USCIS once a Labor Condition Application is certified by the DOL.
Which visa types are commonly used for Bookkeeper roles at Bloomberg?
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for skilled workers in this function, along with the E-3 for Australian citizens. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Bloomberg also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right visa depends on your nationality, your degree, and how far along you are in your career, so reviewing each category against your profile before applying is a practical first step.
What qualifications or experience does Bloomberg expect for Bookkeeper roles?
Bloomberg typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close processes matters more than certifications alone. Proficiency in enterprise accounting software is expected, and familiarity with U.S. GAAP is a practical requirement given Bloomberg's domestic reporting obligations.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Bloomberg?
Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal, where roles are often categorized under finance operations or corporate accounting rather than a standalone bookkeeping title. You can also browse active openings at Bloomberg filtered by role type and visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces relevant positions without requiring you to manually check multiple sources. Tailor your resume to reflect U.S. accounting frameworks and quantify your reconciliation or close work where possible.
How do I plan my timeline if Bloomberg sponsors my visa?
The timeline depends on which visa applies to your situation. For H-1B, the annual lottery runs in March with an October 1 start date if selected, so applications starting mid-year will likely target the following fiscal year. E-3 and H-1B1 visas avoid the lottery entirely and can be filed any time, with USCIS standard processing taking two to four months. Factor in the DOL's LCA certification step before any petition can be filed.
