Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Money Movement team. You'll assist a senior team member on the loss reserves process – a data-heavy body of work that requires knowing the data but also identifying and communicating the insights it reveals – while also owning core day-to-day responsibilities: monthly GL close, bank and cash reconciliations, and ad hoc project work as we build out new payment rails and offerings. You'll need to be proficient in basic systems work (reading SQL, using AI tools) to be effective and efficient in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist a senior accountant in supporting the monthly loss reserves process for Payments – pulling and validating underlying transaction and chargeback data, and helping identify and summarize trends and insights
- Perform monthly GL close activities for the Money Movement / Fintech close, including journal entries and account reconciliations in line with GAAP and company policy
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations across Payments, Bill Pay, Payroll, and Banking offerings, collaborating cross-functionally to triage and resolve variances
- Support ad hoc projects that build and scale the Money Movement engine, including new payment rails, partnering with Product Development to translate contract and technical requirements into accounting treatment
- Read and interpret SQL queries to pull, validate, and troubleshoot data independently, rather than relying solely on others to produce it
- Use AI tools to accelerate reconciliations, variance analysis, documentation, and other manual “run the business” tasks
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support journal entries, reconciliations, and reserve balances for internal and external audit
- Identify and help implement process simplification and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
- Participate in cross-training and provide coverage across other Controllership areas during peak periods
- Adhere to close-calendar SLAs and maintain the internal control environment for areas of responsibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to GL close and bank/cash reconciliations
- Highly detail-oriented with strong process orientation and follow-through
- Proficient in basic systems work: comfortable reading SQL to query and validate data, and using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to support analysis and documentation
- Good understanding of GAAP, accrual concepts, and revenue/payments accounting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to move from raw data to a clear, well-supported insight
- Excellent organizational skills, time prioritization, and ability to multitask across close, reconciliations, and project work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain data-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of Oracle, Blackline, or similar Finance systems a plus
- Strong customer-service mindset; able to build relationships and partner cross-functionally

Align your credentials with U.S. accounting standards
Intuit's Bookkeeper roles typically require familiarity with U.S. GAAP and QuickBooks workflows. Before applying, document any hands-on experience with these tools in your resume, as hiring teams screen for them specifically.
Target Intuit's finance and operations business units
Intuit organizes Bookkeeper hiring around its internal finance function and its QuickBooks Live service. Search both tracks separately, as the sponsorship process and role requirements can differ meaningfully between them.
Find open Bookkeeper roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Bookkeeper jobs at Intuit by visa type, so you're only seeing roles where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed. This saves time and avoids applications that stall at the offer stage.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your final interview
Some Intuit Bookkeeper postings support F-1 OPT or CPT but not H-1B cap filings. Ask the recruiter directly which visa categories the specific role supports before investing time in later-round interviews.
Understand the H-1B cap timeline relative to your start date
H-1B cap petitions have an October 1 start date. If Intuit extends you an offer in late spring or summer, your actual start date may be up to a year away. Build this into your employment gap planning.
Prepare your PERM-readiness documentation early
If your goal is a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, Intuit's legal team will need to demonstrate through DOL's PERM process that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Organizing your experience records and degree equivalency documents early speeds this significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles, though not every open position includes cap-subject H-1B sponsorship. Some postings are limited to candidates already holding H-1B status or on F-1 OPT. Confirm sponsorship scope with the recruiter early in the process to avoid late-stage surprises.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Intuit?
You can apply directly through Intuit's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type. Tailor your application to highlight U.S. accounting tools like QuickBooks and any experience with reconciliation, payroll, or financial reporting in a technology or SaaS environment.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
Intuit sponsors Bookkeeper candidates across H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT categories, as well as immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and career stage. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens only, while TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for sponsored Bookkeeper positions?
Intuit typically looks for candidates with a degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated experience in bookkeeping workflows such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation. Proficiency with QuickBooks is frequently listed as a requirement rather than a preference, particularly for roles supporting the QuickBooks Live platform.
How do I plan my timeline if Intuit offers H-1B sponsorship for a Bookkeeper role?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens the lottery registration window in March each year, with an October 1 employment start date. Intuit would need to file on your behalf by April. If you receive an offer outside this window, you may need to bridge on OPT extension or another status until the next cap cycle begins.
