Align your credentials with U.S. accounting standards
Intuit's Bookkeeper roles typically require familiarity with U.S. GAAP and QuickBooks workflows. Before applying, document any hands-on experience with these tools in your resume, as hiring teams screen for them specifically.
Target Intuit's finance and operations business units
Intuit organizes Bookkeeper hiring around its internal finance function and its QuickBooks Live service. Search both tracks separately, as the sponsorship process and role requirements can differ meaningfully between them.
Find open Bookkeeper roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Bookkeeper jobs at Intuit by visa type, so you're only seeing roles where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed. This saves time and avoids applications that stall at the offer stage.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your final interview
Some Intuit Bookkeeper postings support F-1 OPT or CPT but not H-1B cap filings. Ask the recruiter directly which visa categories the specific role supports before investing time in later-round interviews.
Understand the H-1B cap timeline relative to your start date
H-1B cap petitions have an October 1 start date. If Intuit extends you an offer in late spring or summer, your actual start date may be up to a year away. Build this into your employment gap planning.
Prepare your PERM-readiness documentation early
If your goal is a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, Intuit's legal team will need to demonstrate through DOL's PERM process that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Organizing your experience records and degree equivalency documents early speeds this significantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles, though not every open position includes cap-subject H-1B sponsorship. Some postings are limited to candidates already holding H-1B status or on F-1 OPT. Confirm sponsorship scope with the recruiter early in the process to avoid late-stage surprises.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Intuit?
You can apply directly through Intuit's careers portal or find verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type. Tailor your application to highlight U.S. accounting tools like QuickBooks and any experience with reconciliation, payroll, or financial reporting in a technology or SaaS environment.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
Intuit sponsors Bookkeeper candidates across H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT categories, as well as immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, current status, and career stage. E-3 visa is available to Australian citizens only, while TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for sponsored Bookkeeper positions?
Intuit typically looks for candidates with a degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated experience in bookkeeping workflows such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation. Proficiency with QuickBooks is frequently listed as a requirement rather than a preference, particularly for roles supporting the QuickBooks Live platform.
How do I plan my timeline if Intuit offers H-1B sponsorship for a Bookkeeper role?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens the lottery registration window in March each year, with an October 1 employment start date. Intuit would need to file on your behalf by April. If you receive an offer outside this window, you may need to bridge on OPT extension or another status until the next cap cycle begins.
