Align Your Credentials to KPMG's Service Lines
KPMG structures its tax practice around specific service lines: corporate tax, international tax, and SALT. Before applying, position your resume and CPA or equivalent credential against the service line you're targeting. Generalist profiles get deprioritized at the manager level.
Get Your CPA Licensure Strategy Right Early
KPMG expects Tax Services Managers to hold or be actively pursuing CPA licensure. If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., research your state board's foreign credential evaluation requirements before interviews. This affects both your candidacy and your visa petition's specialty occupation documentation.
Target KPMG Offices in High-Demand Tax Markets
KPMG's offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Houston carry the heaviest tax client loads and post the most Tax Services Manager openings. Focusing your applications on these markets increases your chances of landing a role with active headcount and sponsorship budget approved.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Open Roles Efficiently
Tax Services Manager openings at KPMG are spread across multiple office locations and service lines and don't always appear consistently on job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings at KPMG so you're applying to roles where visa sponsorship is already confirmed.
Understand How KPMG Handles H-1B Cap Timing
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start date. KPMG's recruiting cycles for manager-level hires often close months before April, so clarify your start date eligibility early. Cap-exempt pathways like E-3 for Australian citizens have no such constraint.
Prepare for PERM If You're Pursuing Permanent Residence
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, KPMG must complete a DOL PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. PERM recruitment and audit timelines can run 12 to 18 months. Raise your long-term immigration goals in the offer negotiation stage so the process can begin without delay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KPMG sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Services Managers?
Yes, KPMG sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Services Managers. The firm has legal and HR infrastructure dedicated to nonimmigrant visa petitions, and manager-level tax roles routinely qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards given the degree and professional licensure requirements. If you're cap-subject, your petition would need to be filed in April for an October start.
Which visa types does KPMG commonly use for Tax Services Manager roles?
KPMG sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Tax Services Managers, but also files E-3 visa petitions for Australian citizens and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-tenured employees. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and career timeline. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT extension are also common in this pipeline.
What qualifications does KPMG expect for Tax Services Manager candidates?
KPMG generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with CPA licensure or active progress toward it. At the manager level, five or more years of public accounting or relevant tax experience is standard. Specialization in corporate tax, international tax, or partnership tax significantly strengthens your profile for most open roles.
How do I apply for Tax Services Manager jobs at KPMG?
You can apply directly through KPMG's careers portal, but openings are spread across service lines and office locations, which makes it easy to miss relevant roles. Migrate Mate aggregates Tax Services Manager openings at KPMG that are verified for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can browse and apply without having to manually filter through listings that don't match your immigration needs.
How do I plan my timeline for KPMG visa sponsorship as a Tax Services Manager?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you need a cap-subject H-1B, plan for an April lottery and October start, which means securing an offer several months in advance. E-3 and L-1 visa transfers typically move faster. For Green Card sponsorship via PERM, the DOL process alone can take over a year, so initiate that conversation at the offer stage.
