Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Tax Services Manager roles require a degree in accounting, taxation, or a closely related field. Before applying, confirm your credentials clearly establish that field-specific connection, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility for tax advisory positions closely.
Target Aprio offices with active tax practices
Aprio operates multiple offices and its tax practice spans industries like real estate, technology, and professional services. Applying to locations where those practice areas are most active improves your odds of landing a role that supports a sponsorship case.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 pathways apply here
Aprio has sponsored candidates through both EB-2 and EB-3 categories for tax roles. EB-2 typically requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professionals with a standard bachelor's. Clarify which category fits your credentials before the offer stage.
Prepare for PERM timing in your negotiation
PERM labor certification is the first step for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship and currently takes over a year at DOL. Build that timeline into your conversations with Aprio's HR team so both sides align on expectations from the start.
Demonstrate CPA progress or licensure explicitly
Aprio consistently hires Tax Services Managers who are CPA-licensed or actively pursuing it. Calling out your CPA status, exam progress, or state licensure in your application materials directly addresses a qualification Aprio weighs heavily for this level.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Tax Services Manager roles at Aprio
Aprio posts Tax Services Manager openings across practice areas and locations. Search Migrate Mate to filter for Aprio roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the employer has already indicated willingness to support your case.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aprio sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Services Managers?
Aprio's documented sponsorship history for Tax Services Manager roles sits within the employment-based immigrant visa categories rather than H-1B visa. That said, many accounting firms use H-1B for nonimmigrant work authorization while a Green Card case is pending. You should ask Aprio's recruiting team directly which visa types they support for this specific role and at which stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for Tax Services Manager roles at Aprio?
Aprio has sponsored Tax Services Managers through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which lead to a Green Card rather than a temporary work visa. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid work visa, Aprio may support concurrent immigrant sponsorship. International candidates without existing work authorization should discuss timing and category eligibility during the offer process.
What qualifications does Aprio expect for Tax Services Manager candidates seeking sponsorship?
Aprio typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, taxation, or finance, plus several years of progressive public accounting experience. CPA licensure or demonstrated progress toward it carries significant weight. For sponsorship purposes, your degree must support a specialty occupation determination under USCIS standards, so a directly relevant field of study matters more than general business credentials.
How do I apply for Tax Services Manager jobs at Aprio?
You can find Tax Services Manager openings at Aprio through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where the employer has a sponsorship track record. When you apply, tailor your resume to Aprio's specific practice area focus, whether that's federal tax, SALT, or international. Mention your visa status and timeline early, since Aprio's recruiting process moves faster when both sides understand the sponsorship requirements upfront.
How do I plan my timeline if Aprio sponsors me through a Green Card process?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 involves three main stages: PERM labor certification at DOL, an I-140 immigrant petition at USCIS, and then adjustment of status or consular processing. DOL currently takes over a year for PERM alone. Depending on your birth country, visa priority date backlogs at USCIS may extend the overall timeline further. Start this conversation with Aprio's HR team before accepting an offer.
