Align your credentials to U.S. CPA standards
Aprio hires for roles that often require or reward CPA licensure. If your accounting credential is from outside the U.S., research your state board's foreign credential evaluation process before applying so your qualifications translate clearly on your resume.
Target Aprio's niche industry service lines
Aprio focuses heavily on sectors like technology, franchising, and private equity. Framing your accounting experience around clients or transactions in those industries signals fit with their actual book of business, not just general firm work.
Find Aprio's open Accountant roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship history, so you can surface Aprio's active Accountant openings alongside their sponsorship record. That saves you from applying blind to roles where sponsorship was never on the table.
Understand the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship at Aprio requires a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before an immigrant visa petition. That process can take a year or more, so confirm your employer's willingness to start it early in the offer conversation.
Ask about the firm's immigration counsel relationship
Firms that regularly sponsor employees typically work with retained immigration attorneys. Asking recruiter contacts whether Aprio has an in-house process for PERM and I-140 filings tells you quickly how organized their sponsorship pipeline actually is.
Sequence your visa status to protect your work authorization
If you're transitioning from OPT or another nonimmigrant status while waiting for a Green Card petition to move forward, confirm with USCIS guidelines whether you have cap-gap coverage or need to bridge status through an H-1B before your priority date becomes current.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aprio sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Aprio's primary sponsorship activity for Accountant roles has been through permanent residence pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visa. That said, H-1B sponsorship is not uncommon at large accounting firms for qualifying specialty occupation roles. You should ask directly during the recruitment process whether Aprio will support an H-1B petition for the specific position you're targeting.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Aprio?
Applications go through Aprio's careers portal, where roles are listed by service line and location. Before applying, review the specific practice area, since tax, audit, and advisory roles have different experience expectations. Tailoring your resume to the client industries Aprio serves, such as technology or franchising, will make your application more competitive than a generic accounting resume.
Which visa types are commonly used for Accountant roles at Aprio?
Aprio has sponsored Accountants through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which lead to permanent residence. EB-3 is the more common path for staff and senior accountant roles, while EB-2 applies when the position requires an advanced degree or the candidate can demonstrate exceptional ability. Both require a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Aprio expect for sponsored Accountant positions?
Most sponsored Accountant roles at Aprio require at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. CPA licensure or active candidacy strengthens your application significantly, particularly for senior-level positions. Relevant experience in a specific industry vertical Aprio serves, such as private equity, nonprofits, or high-growth tech companies, carries more weight than generalist public accounting experience alone.
How do I find Aprio Accountant jobs that are open to visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to browse Aprio's Accountant openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility. Because not every job listing on a general job board flags visa sponsorship availability, using a platform built specifically for that filter reduces wasted applications. Once you identify a role, confirm sponsorship intent with the recruiter before investing time in the full interview process.
