Frame Your Credentials Around U.S. Accounting Standards
JPMorganChase's accounting roles center on U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation through NACES to establish equivalency before applying.
Target Roles in Regulatory and Financial Reporting
Regulatory reporting and financial control are high-volume hiring areas at large holding companies like JPMorganChase. Filtering for these functions improves your odds of landing a role with dedicated immigration support built into the offer process.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Sponsorship-Eligible Roles
Search Migrate Mate to identify current Accountant openings at JPMorganChase that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on roles that won't move forward for international candidates.
Ask About Sponsorship Timeline During Offer Negotiations
H-1B petitions for October 1 start dates must be filed by April 1. If you receive an offer after the cap registration window closes, confirm whether the role qualifies for a cap-exempt filing or whether your start date needs to shift to the next fiscal year.
Prepare for Internal Audit and Compliance Interview Tracks
JPMorganChase frequently hires Accountants into internal audit rotational programs. Preparing case-based answers around internal controls and risk assessment positions you for these pipelines, which are active year-round rather than seasonally.
Understand How PERM Fits Into Long-Term Sponsorship
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, your employer files a PERM labor certification with DOL before the I-140 petition. At large financial institutions, this process typically starts after two to three years of employment, so confirm the firm's policy early.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. The firm has an established immigration program and works with corporate immigration counsel to file petitions for qualifying candidates. Sponsorship is typically offered after an offer is extended, and H-1B cap-subject petitions must be submitted by April 1 for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Accountant roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors several visa categories for Accountants, including the H-1B for most internationally educated hires, the H-1B1 visa for candidates from Singapore and Chile, and the E-3 visa for Australian citizens. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, the firm sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa categories via the PERM process.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at JPMorganChase?
Applications go through JPMorganChase's careers portal, where roles are listed by function, location, and line of business. Browsing Migrate Mate is a practical way to surface Accountant openings at JPMorganChase that are open to visa sponsorship specifically, saving time you'd otherwise spend screening individual listings. Tailor your application to highlight U.S. GAAP experience and any relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for sponsored Accountant roles?
Most Accountant roles at JPMorganChase require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, which supports the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B classification. Roles involving SEC reporting or SOX compliance often prefer candidates who are CPA-eligible or already licensed. Internship experience at a financial institution or Big Four firm strengthens your profile significantly for competitive openings.
How do I plan my timeline if I'm waiting on H-1B sponsorship at JPMorganChase?
The H-1B cap registration window opens in March, with the lottery typically running in late March and petitions due by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and whether you qualify for the 24-month STEM extension, which can bridge the gap if you're not selected in the first lottery cycle. USCIS processes premium processing petitions within 15 business days for an additional fee.
