Align Your Credentials With U.S. Accounting Standards
Before applying, verify your foreign accounting credentials translate to U.S. equivalents. Siemens hiring managers for accounting roles expect familiarity with U.S. GAAP, so any CPA progress or IFRS-to-GAAP conversion experience you can document will strengthen your application directly.
Target Siemens Divisions With Complex Reporting Needs
Siemens operates across infrastructure, energy, and industrial automation, each with distinct financial compliance requirements. Roles supporting government contracts or regulated business units tend to require more specialized accounting skills, which makes sponsorship more straightforward to justify through the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
Find Open Accountant Roles Using Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Siemens Accountant openings by visa type before applying. This lets you prioritize postings where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than discovering the employer's position late in the process.
Understand How TN Status Applies to Accounting
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, TN status covers Accountants specifically and can be obtained at the border without a prior petition. Siemens sponsors TN visas, so clarify this option with your recruiter early since it has no annual cap and a faster timeline than H-1B.
Prepare for the LCA Prevailing Wage Stage Early
Before Siemens files your H-1B or permanent resident petition, DOL requires a certified Labor Condition Application confirming your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your accounting role and location. Knowing which wage level your title maps to helps you evaluate offers accurately before signing.
Ask About Internal Transfer Pathways Before Applying Externally
Siemens has global operations, and candidates already employed at a Siemens entity abroad may qualify for an L-1 intracompany transfer into a U.S. accounting role. This route bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely, so confirm whether your current or prior employer has a Siemens affiliation.

Find Accountant at Siemens JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Siemens sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Siemens sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Because H-1B selection is subject to the annual lottery, Siemens typically initiates the process well in advance of the October 1 start date. Candidates on F-1 OPT can often bridge the gap while the petition is pending.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Siemens?
Applications go through Siemens' careers portal, where you can filter by job function and location. Migrate Mate also lists open Siemens Accountant roles filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify positions where sponsorship is confirmed before you invest time in the application. Tailor your resume to reflect U.S. GAAP experience and any relevant certifications prominently.
Which visa types does Siemens commonly use for Accountant roles?
Siemens sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for accounting positions, and also supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens without a lottery. F-1 OPT and CPT are practical entry points for recent graduates, and Siemens has sponsored permanent residency for long-term accounting hires via the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Siemens expect for sponsored Accountant roles?
Siemens generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field as a baseline for H-1B sponsorship, since the specialty occupation standard requires the degree to directly relate to the role. CPA licensure or active CPA candidacy is a strong differentiator. Experience with consolidation, intercompany accounting, or compliance in a large multinational environment aligns well with the complexity of Siemens' finance function.
How do I time my application around visa filing deadlines?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start date, so you need a job offer in place before that window. F-1 OPT holders can start before October 1 and remain authorized while a pending H-1B petition is processed under the cap-gap rule, which extends your OPT status automatically. Confirming your authorization timeline with Siemens' HR team at the offer stage prevents gaps.
