Align Your Credentials to U.S. Accounting Standards
Hyatt's finance teams operate under U.S. GAAP, so your application stands out when you can demonstrate familiarity with it. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from NACES-member organization before applying.
Target Corporate Finance Postings Over Property-Level Roles
Hyatt's H-1B sponsorship for Accountants is concentrated at the corporate and regional level, not individual hotel properties. Prioritize postings that list a headquarters or regional office location when you search for open positions.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Hyatt Accountant Openings
Not every Hyatt job posting explicitly states visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to surface Accountant roles at Hyatt that are tied to confirmed sponsorship activity, saving time you'd otherwise spend on roles that won't move forward.
Understand How Hyatt Files LCAs for Accounting Roles
Before Hyatt can file your H-1B petition, it must submit a Labor Condition Application to the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your specific accounting role and work location. Knowing this helps you ask informed questions during offer negotiations.
Position CPA Progress Strategically in Your Application
Hyatt's accounting teams favor candidates working toward or holding CPA licensure. If you're mid-examination, note your passed sections and expected completion date in your resume so recruiters don't overlook your candidacy on the assumption you're unqualified.
Clarify Sponsorship Timing Before Accepting an Offer
H-1B cap-subject filings have an April 1 filing window with an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, confirm with Hyatt's HR team that your OPT expiration and any STEM extension timeline align with their ability to bridge your status without a gap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for Accountants, primarily for roles based at corporate and regional offices rather than individual hotel properties. Sponsorship is most common for mid-level and senior accounting positions where specialized qualifications are required. If you're on OPT, Hyatt can typically bridge your status while a cap-subject H-1B petition is pending with USCIS.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Hyatt?
Apply through Hyatt's careers portal, where postings are listed by function and location. For the strongest shot at a sponsored role, target corporate finance and shared services postings rather than property-level positions. Migrate Mate is the recommended way to browse Accountant openings at Hyatt that are connected to active visa sponsorship history, so you're not applying blindly.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly use for Accountant roles?
Hyatt sponsors a range of visa categories for accounting positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting classifications, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in accounting or finance programs, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires. J-1 visa and H-2B visa are less common for this specific function.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for sponsored Accountant roles?
Hyatt generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for sponsored Accountant positions, since the H-1B requires a qualifying specialty occupation. CPA licensure or active progress toward it strengthens your application considerably. Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, hospitality industry revenue structures, and enterprise financial systems like Oracle or SAP is commonly referenced in Hyatt's finance job postings.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an H-1B through Hyatt?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer in place well before then, typically by late February or early March. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period and any STEM OPT extension become critical planning variables. Confirm with Hyatt's HR or legal team early in the process so your authorization stays continuous while USCIS adjudicates the petition.
