Align Your CPA Credentials Before Applying
Intuit's accounting roles often require or strongly prefer CPA licensure. If you're internationally trained, confirm your credential equivalency early. USCIS evaluates whether your degree and license support a specialty occupation claim, and gaps here can delay or complicate an H-1B petition.
Target Intuit's Tax and Finance Technology Teams
Intuit hires Accountants specifically for product-facing tax work, not just back-office finance. Roles tied to TurboTax or QuickBooks product integrity tend to have clearer specialty occupation justifications, which strengthens your H-1B or E-3 petition at the DOL and USCIS stages.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Active Openings Quickly
Intuit posts Accountant roles across multiple locations and teams at once. Use Migrate Mate to filter for positions that explicitly list visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on roles that won't move forward with international candidates.
Ask About LCA Scope During the Offer Stage
Before signing an offer, confirm whether the Labor Condition Application will cover your assigned work location. Intuit operates across multiple offices and remote setups, and your LCA must reflect where you'll actually work. A mismatch creates compliance issues for the employer and risk for your status.
Factor Green Card Sponsorship Into Your Timeline
If your goal is permanent residence, ask during late-stage interviews whether Intuit initiates PERM for Accountant roles. The PERM labor certification process can take 18 to 24 months before an I-140 is even filed, so knowing the employer's policy early affects your long-term planning.
Prepare for Technical Accounting Screens on OPT
Intuit's hiring process for Accountants often includes case-based assessments covering financial reporting standards. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day unemployment limit means you can't afford a slow search. Complete STEM OPT extension paperwork with your DSO before you start interviewing so you're not racing a deadline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Intuit's size and established immigration infrastructure mean the sponsorship process is generally well-supported internally, though individual offers are subject to role-level approval and H-1B cap availability.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Intuit?
You can apply directly through Intuit's careers portal. Filtering for roles in tax, finance operations, or financial reporting will surface the most relevant Accountant openings. Migrate Mate also lists Intuit's visa-sponsored positions in one place, which makes it easier to identify roles that are actively open to international candidates without checking multiple sources.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly use for Accountant roles?
Intuit sponsors a range of visa types for Accountant positions, including the H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Intuit also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, typically initiated after an employee has established tenure in the role.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for sponsored Accountant positions?
Most Accountant roles at Intuit require a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. CPA licensure is preferred for senior or client-facing positions. Because Intuit's accounting function intersects with its tax and financial software products, familiarity with U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance processes strengthens your application significantly beyond baseline credential requirements.
How do I manage my visa timeline when targeting an Accountant role at Intuit?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply early enough that an offer and USCIS H-1B filing can happen before your OPT expires. H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so offers typically need to be in place by February or March. E-3 and TN holders have more flexibility since those visas aren't subject to the annual cap or lottery.
