Align your credentials with Bloomberg's accounting stack
Bloomberg's accounting roles frequently require experience with large-scale financial systems and GAAP reporting. CPA licensure or active candidacy signals you're ready to contribute without a learning curve, which strengthens your sponsorship case from the first screen.
Target roles in financial reporting and controllership
Bloomberg consistently hires accountants for financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controls. Applications framed around technical accounting standards rather than general finance functions tend to align better with open requisitions and the specialty occupation criteria USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
Browse verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filtering by visa type before you apply saves time. Use Migrate Mate to surface Bloomberg's open accountant positions filtered by H-1B or E-3 sponsorship so you're only pursuing roles where the pathway is already confirmed.
Understand the LCA wage level before negotiating
Bloomberg files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition, certifying your salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Knowing your LCA wage level upfront helps you negotiate from an informed position without stalling the filing timeline.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Ask directly whether Bloomberg's offer covers H-1B cap-subject filing, premium processing, and any subsequent Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM. Large technology employers often have tiered immigration benefits, and accounting roles can sometimes fall outside standard sponsorship tracks.
Time your application around the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B lottery registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date for approved petitions. Starting your Bloomberg interview process in the preceding fall or winter gives you the best chance of having an offer in place before registration closes.

Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. Accounting positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria because they require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Bloomberg has established immigration processes in place and works with legal counsel to manage H-1B filings for qualified candidates.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Bloomberg?
Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal, where roles are listed by function and location. Before applying, review the job description carefully for degree and experience requirements specific to accounting. You can also use Migrate Mate to filter Bloomberg's open accountant positions by visa sponsorship type, so you surface only the roles relevant to your immigration situation.
Which visa types does Bloomberg commonly use for Accountant roles?
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for accounting professionals, along with immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 through the PERM labor certification process. H-1B is the most common route for most nationalities. Australian citizens may pursue the E-3, and Chilean or Singaporean nationals may be eligible for the H-1B1, both of which bypass the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does Bloomberg expect for sponsored Accountant positions?
Most Bloomberg accountant roles require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. CPA licensure or active pursuit of it is a strong differentiator. Experience with consolidations, financial reporting under GAAP, or large ERP systems is frequently listed in job descriptions. These qualifications also support the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How do I estimate the timeline from job offer to starting work at Bloomberg on an H-1B?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, count on a minimum of six to eight months from offer to start date, assuming a March registration and October 1 start. Bloomberg can file for premium processing through USCIS to get a decision within 15 business days, but lottery selection itself cannot be expedited. Cap-exempt candidates, such as those transferring from a current H-1B, face shorter timelines.
